Pedro,

What is that nice little 70cm antenna that you have mounted on your TH-F6? It
looks like a square loop with a reflector, or something like that. Is it
commercial, or did you make it? Any diagrams for construction?

Hi All,

I see that IK2MKE has reported hearing AO-10, any idea if this is
possible?

Could someone please run a prediction and let me know when the next
few passes for ao-51 should be over morgantown, WV, predict and
gpredict are giving me wildly differing answers with what I beleive
are the latest keps.

Thanks in advance for helping this newb out.

How strong would it be? Would you pick it up with a 3-ele yagi?

I could hear *something* on 145.810MHz but I'm in the middle of a
city so it could be just about anything. I'll try in an hour to see if
I can rule out local QRM.

Hi Chris,

do you have some more details?
Frequency? Doppler shift, just a carrier? Does antenna pointing fit
with AO-10's AZ/EL tracking, etc?

To answer you question: Yes, it is possible....
There have been similar occasions in the past, but I believe the last
report is quite a while ago...

Bruce,
I would agree if the results were consistantly off by an hour however
this is not the case.

Thanks,

I checked out the links and other information you guys gave me.
Thanks for all of help. I have discovered that for whatever reason
predict is giving me inaccurate results can any one out there give me
some help on how to troubleshoot predict?

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

I run both Predict and GPredict, and after telling Predict that I'm on DST,
both give me the identical prediction, and both agree with the prediction from
the Amsat site. GPredict seems to know that DST happened, and made the
appropriate correction automatically.

I'm running OpenSuSE Linux 10.3.

Every so often I have a listen for AO-40 (sobsob) and throw a bit of RF at it,
just in case.

Hi all,

just for the history, last night I was listening for about 2 hours the
AO-10's beacon-frequency without succes (I re-installed my 9 El Yagi +
GasFet preamp - just for that.).

Nothing heard from AO-10.

BTW it was a weak carrier on .809, however without any doppler-effect and
remained there "stable" after the..... LOS of Satellite !

So, it is more than obvious that, it iwas just a "manmade" fake signal from
my area.

Therefore, it's very easy to think somebody that it has heard the
Satellite, however was it the satellite?
I wonder also if the last report about AO-10's receiving is confirmed by
other peoples.

I was also looking for the original post of IK2MKE, but I can't find it.

Where - when is posted? Any additional info is appreciated.

PS: the last distributed Keplerians of AO-10 are OK ? according to that
the AO-10 tonight is "in range" for
Europe @ + - 23:20 (from my Location AOS:17:46 Z, TCA 21:30 /AZ=86-EL=21,
LOS=23:22Z).

Hi,

I was also listening this morning for a while - with the same results.
Nothing that sounds like the carrier of AO-10 or just another satellite.
Only very stable QRM signals ...

Hi all,

just for the history, last night I was listening for about 2 hours the
AO-10's beacon-frequency without succes (I re-installed my 9 El Yagi +
GasFet preamp - just for that.).

Nothing heard from AO-10.

BTW it was a weak carrier on .809, however without any doppler-effect and
remained there "stable" after the..... LOS of Satellite !

So, it is more than obvious that, it iwas just a "manmade" fake signal from

my area.

Therefore, it's very easy to think somebody that it has heard the
Satellite, however was it the satellite?

one might keep in mind that the offpoint of the satellite is not
known, so we in the US might have a poor offpoint and hear nothing,
and those on the other side of the world may have a good offpoint and
may be able to hear something. The point is, if you think you may have
heard a signal keep listening and by all means keep reporting it. the
more antennas pointing at it and more reports of what is or is not
heard will help to know if the satellite is making a come back or not.
