It's 145.825, however, they have not had packet active for the last week...
still on crossband repeater, last time I checked.

Subject: [amsat-bb] AO-7 DX-list NEW-UPDATE

Hello all,

the new updated "AO-7 DX-List" is already uploaded and we have 2 NEW
Records for the 1st & 2nd place of the "Longest Distance QSO" via AO-7!!!

The 1st "New WW Record" has been achieved by W4FDU and LU2DPW on CW-Mode.
The distance between the 2 stations (EL89TP <> GF05GI) is 7537 Km, about 99

Km more than previous record ! Well done !

The 2nd place has been also changed with a second New-Record of 7524 Km by

AA4FL and LU2DPW
(....LU2DPW "strikes" once again !).

The previous Record (7438 Km) by Joe, K3SZH and Fabio, PY4AJ, it's now in
the 3rd place of DX-List.

Congratulations to all operators ! Great competition !

For more details visit the new URL of page:

http://www.qsl.net/sv1bsx/oscardx/ao7-dx.html

....and a few "Tips":

Please keep in mind, I have set a new "Limit" for each operator in order to
send me NO more than 2 QSOs maximum.
So, please send me just your "first two" best DX contacts - no more- in
order to keep the List as short as possible (and interesting !).
The participation does not have meaning if includes a lot of contacts for
each one operator, there is not any sense to send me somebody 5-10 QSOs and

the most of these with a distance lower than 6500 Km.

We looking for the "Longest distance DX-QSOs" via AO-7 - NOT for a....
Long-long boring List.

Actually, after a few months I will keep into the DX-List ONLY the
confirmed QSOs . Thus, in my new page only these QSOs (Highlighted with
Yellow-color) have "counting" - including the foto of QSL-card.

The NON CONFIRMED QSOs are already without any number (counting) in the 1st

column and they will be erased the next year from the list, if the concerned

operators don't send me the relative QSL-cards. That it was a request by
several operators which have already Confirmed QSOs and I agree with that,
it's absolutely fair. As they used to say:

"The Final Courtesy of DX-QSO is a QSL Card" !

BTW I am fully surprised about the complete absence of MODE-A in the DX-List

! Nobody? Why that?
After a few weeks the Old-girl will enter in new eclipse-period, so we will
lose the 24/7 "switching" between Mode-A & B.

Finally, pse check your personal entries (...if you have) in the DX-List and

let me know for any possible error -particularly- in the "Distance (Km)" and

"Locator" columns. The most participators have different programs, they
don't use the "TinyLocator" for the distance-calculation and thus, I need to

re-calculate several entries in order to make an accurate DX-List.
That is not easy if I have 10-15 new entries per update, so ...."don't shoot

the pianist" !

Just let me know about the fault and I will correct it ASAP.

Thanks in advance

73 de Mak, SV1BSX

Marv,

Go to the Satellites and Rotators section of the HRD support forum and post
your question, bug report, etc. Simon reads all that, as do many others who
are very knowledgeable.

I don't use another interface, but I see there are listings in the HRD
Rotator program for Yaesu (as/el) and Yaesu (el). That is the separate
program which will eventually be integrated.

Hi all.

some lines extract from the satellites of HRD

programs via a DDE server using the Nova format.
rd party program which requires Nova tracking information
can now use HRD instead. al examples are rotator controllers.
HRD does not support direct control of a rotator via a COM port
instead the software supplied TRACKING

Thanks Alan,
I did that first.
Even before I ordered the LVB Tracker I read the posts on there and in there
WiKi area that listed it as working.
Only to find out now that it may no be.
Still gathering information.
I found no place in HRD where it lists the AZ & EL only the 232A not 232B

You need to be using the NEW rotator program, which you can find on the main
download site in the beta sections, with a lot of looking:

http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com/Programs/HRDRotator/tabid/116/Default.aspx

One of the dropdown boxes, show with AlfaSpid az/el in the image, will also
give you Yaesu az/el. This will eventually be integrated into the HRD
program.

Good luck.

Hi all,
Just a reminder that DST will this coming Sunday, March 8, here in the U.S.
Don't forget to make the change on your tracking program if it doesn't change
automatically.

Marv

I have recently received an email indicating that HRD 2121 does work with
the LVB Tracker, however it was via a rather circuitous route from Poland
via Canada and I have no more details.

I am not an HRD user myself, and at present my QTH is undergoing some fairly
substantial rennovation so I'm living out of cardboard boxes at the moment
and have no direct means to test it.

Protocols supported by the LVB Tracker are Easycomm-1 and GS-232A. GS-232A
was chosen because at the time that seemed to be the most common theme among
prediction programs. Easycomm-1 was also promised very early on, so I added
that too: it detects which protocol is being run on the fly.

I have just tried it on my laptop, and selected HRD Rotator 4.1 build 2026
with Yaesu Az/El at 9600 bps and I could see a "C2" command being executed
using an RS-232 sniffer. This is a GS-232A command to return Azimuth and
Elevation to the host. So Yaesu Az/El and 9600bps would seem to be the
settings to use.

I am committed to making this work, so please let me know what you have
tried.

Subject: [amsat-bb] LVB Tracker and HRD Sat Tracker setup Problem

I got my LVB Tracker box today and while going through the setup I have
found a couple of things.
To start off. I am using HRD 4.1 B2055, Sat Tracker 4.1 B 2019.
Radio is a Kenwood 2000 Rotor is the G-5500
In the rotator set up of HRD there is no option for the GS 232B so I have no
control of the ELEV.
I have looked thought the other posts on HRD site but cant seem to find any
talk of a fix for this.
I have check the com to the rotor and can move them by hand just fine with
both the GS 232 & EasyComm.
Can someone point me to the right area to fix this problem please.
Thanks
Marv

And be glad that your wife doesn't collect clocks! My wife has well over 30
in her collection and she changes only the one by the bed. The rest she
leaves up to me. Spring isn't that bad since each clock has to be moved only
1 hour. However, Fall is different because most of them have to be advanced
11 hours since they cannot be "run back" and a few that chime and have silent
periods between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM have to be run through 23 hours!

I think I have the Satellite tracking working. It is a little awkward but it
will track.

I will try to list what I did to get the different programs talking to each
other as well as list some things I am seeing with the operation.

Here we go.

First- Start HRD and connect to the radio.

Next -Start Satellite tracking and "connect" it with the radio

Now- Start the HRD Rotator program, Click on the "Connect", Make sure
Orbitron is selected, "click the DDE Connect" Try and move your rotor. I
didn't find anywhere that would lit me control the El rotor in this program.

Now back to Satellite Tracker- Now pick the satellite you would like to
track, open the "Tuning Dial" and click the RX/ TX boxes. Clicking on the
"Rotator" button in this program has no effect on rotor control.

Last -Back to HRD Rotator to click on the "Track DDE" button.

This should start the rotors tracking.

Some things to note.

If you are waiting for the Sat to come into view, the rotors will still be
tracking the bird.

You may find the rotors will take off and head all the way around to the
wrong location if the bird is headed in from a location close to "0" or
"360". In this case use HRD Rotator to stop the tracking using the "Track
DDE" button until the bird gets in view.

As stated before the Rotator button in HRD Sat Tracker has no effect at this
time.

I hope this will help others in using the LVB Tracker Box. It's a great
little interface and seems to work vary well to this point.

Thanks to everyone who helped me get this running.

Marv.
