Since several people were having good luck using the ISS repeater, I decided
to put the frequences into my computer. While I am there, I was decided to
add the crew contact frequencies, but.... what do regions 1,2/3 mean?

I am having a problem getting into the ISS,even when its over head.
I can hear the station vary loud. Last night it was almost over head and it
was 40 over, still no luck.
I am using HRD 4.1Build 2019 to run the TS-2000.
I have checked the tone and it should be set for 67hz. and turned on.
It is almost like the tone isnt there.
Will the uplink antenna make that much of a differance? I am using an old
style KLM 143-150-14C without the switch wired up so I cant change it.
The other question I have is...is it better to cant the antennas at a 45*
angle rather than being 90* to ground(looking more like an"X" than "+") ?
I would sure like to get in one time before the mode changes again.
Great web site.
Thanks everyone for the help the last couple of weeks. It make this new mode
a lot more fun.

I did try it, but perhaps 5W into a handheld 3-element yagi isn't making
the trip.

Having not really got into the ISS, I'm going to be on SO-50 in 20
minutes or so when it appears over the UK. At its highest it will be 88
degrees elevation over my QTH, straight over the top! I should be able
to get in at that...

This sat used to require a 67Hz PL tone.

No mention of that now, has the requirement been dropped?

We dropped the PL tone about 2 years ago based on extensive observations on
it's impact on the use of the satellite.

That would be about when I last used it!!

A UK pass just when you don't need it...

Lashed up a station in 10 minutes.

Half a QSO with someone in JN57, very sorry to whoever it was.

Only for those who don't try S band or the BBS! There is typically a good
amount of activity on V/S, and it was a requested mode this month, as it is
most months.

If I can get my down link antenna to work I'll try and be on sometime over
the next few days.

I can only see passes from here (JO01FR) between 70dg & 180dg az and above
40dg el.

Used a hand held antenna 2 years ago with a K5GNA & FT817 and that was fine
but tried a BBQ grill thing tonight with a UEK3000 and that was (to put it
politely) poor.
