Yahoo changed something in how E-Mails are rejected and quite a few people
have been getting such notifications from several reflectors. ?I got one
from several including the AMSAT reflector. ?I just replied to the notice
and, so far, everything is fine now.

I use Yahoo for things like reflectors to keep SPAM away from my primary
E-Mail addresses. ?In general, it does help although I still get some SPAM
on my primary addresses.

Yep, got all my stuff sorted out and staged, and just reserved the
little U-Haul trailer I rent every year.

I'll be running the K6AA satellite station, so look for us!

In an effort to resuscitate an older pc running windows XP (R.I.P.) I'm
trying to get acquainted with Ubuntu. I made some headway today with FlDigi
but need advice regarding a substitute for SatPC32 that will run under
Ubuntu and handle CAT control,of my FT-847. Any other Ubuntu ham programs
like logging, digital modes etc. that anyone can recommend us appreciated.

K4AMG will be operating FD as the GOTA station for W4CAR in FM 16.

We will be fully functional on F029, VO52, AO7, and AO73. We will not
operate on SO50, but will listen using our handheld station.

On Friday before FD will be at a Cub Scout Day Camp in Norfolk, VA with 100
cubs.

W4RUE - Rue will man an on the air station, Duane - KJ4YKG will demonstrate
a hand held WX SAT demo as per suggestions from the blog. NASA and Virginia
Air and Space Center will provide Moon Rocks.

Rich - W4BUE will talk to the cubs and we will have Cube SAT toss
demonstrating how the Cube SAT spins and rotates around the earth, and we
may have one more ham (?) to show some EMCOM stuff.

We have space coloring books for the younger boys. For the older boys we
will have a read and fill in the blank exercise on operating satellites from
their own back yard and fun for the family.

Anyone interested in our Read and Fill in the blank activity it can be
emailed to you. We also have a word search we decided not to use, but that
is available if you want a copy.

We have 2 ARRL hand outs:
    * 22 Reasons
    * We Do That

And we have a letter to Scouts and Parents about how amateur radio can lead
to a great technical career. On request a copy of that we can emailed it to
you too. If we can get permission we will have pictures and maybe some
videos, that will be limited by man power as we are lacking volunteers.

Everyone have a great FD.

GPredict will work just fine, although I suggest you download the manual
and study it, as it's got a few arcane functions in it.

Another plus for gpredict here for the part of predicting satellites and
calculating doppler shift.

But..

When I look up controlling an FT-847 with gpredict I end up at sites like
http://www.neodux.com/read/HOWTO:_Configure_Hamlib_for_Linux_Hams_-_Part_2
which show it can be done "easy" when you are comfortable with running
things from the linux command-line. And as a recent starter this may be
intimidating to you.

Just a note so you're aware of this, I have no idea of your level of
knowledge.

For software defined radio Gqrx can be great. Not available via the ubuntu
ham software repositories, look it up on http://gqrx.dk/ how to add it to
ubuntu.

Hi all.

Using published information about the upcoming Dnepr launch on Thursday,
I've produced a set of keps that seem to fit well with the launch time from
Yasny.

Sorry they are not in 2-line format, but these can be typed into Nova and
other programs. Should be OK for the first 24 hrs after which we will
hopefully have some from the launch agency or one of the payload teams.

Name QB50p1
Cat 99999
