I had intermittent terminations of the USB link of LVB Tracker using the
internal LVB Tracker USB to serial port adapter header with SATPC32 . I
tried many different configurations to resolve and it pretty much failed
during every satellite pass at least once when I tried to use it.

I would have to close SATPC32 and close ServerSDX manually , turn off
the El-AZ controller power and then back on to reset the USB link,
restart SATPC32 and then it would work again till the next USB link
failure. It occurred randomly, but often enough to be a problem.

This occurred with three different computers running Win-XP, Vista and
Windows 7.

As others have suggested, I replaced the USB adapter header assembly
with a MAX-232 and now use an external ATEN USB to serial adapter.

I have had no problems with LVB Tracker for over a year since doing
this. Rock solid!

After 36 years in space, the International Sun-Earth Explorer-3 appears to
be in good working order, and a shoestring group of civilian engineers is
trying to bring it back into Earth?s orbit.

Down here in Australia at times we have experienced it were AO-7 would
change modes mid pass during a non eclipse period. This was not due to to
many stations but just the 24 hour time kicking in. You could follow the 24
hour period on http://oscar.dcarr.org.

We use to take betts on who would be the last one to speak before the mode
change.

I'll be working portable from FN21 in NE PA Poconos for most of the summer
using my FT-847 and eggbeaters. Finally got things set up today and worked
quite a few stations on AO-7 & FO-29. SO-50 was the usual mess hi hi.
Haven't yet tried LO-78.

I've learned that I could really use a 2 meter mast mount preamp for 2
meters. I have one for 70cm so if anyone has one they are thinking of
selling let me know. I need one that can be remotely powered through the
coax by the 847.

TNX and hope to catch you on the birds!

I received ?a email that I have unsubscribed from the AMSAT-BB mailing list.
I have not submitted a unsubscription request. Is this something in error or
anyone else experienced the same.
