As it turned out, I jinxed myself with that post. Stood at the ready during
the pass and heard nada.... Thought maybe the transponder was turned
off....At about the midway point I noticed one of the micro-coax connection
points to my (uhf) yagi was broken.

Will have to fix that.... ah well.

Hi Enzo,

I also purchased one to play. For this step, first tune the dongle to a
known frequency. Actually any known frequency will do, but the weather
frequencies are usually strong and you can even use the tiny antenna
included with the dongle to receive them. You will most likely see the
signal peak is off from the tuned frequency (red line) of your SDR software.
For HDSDR, click the "ExtIO" button, which will open up the dialogue box to
adjust the PPM and other settings of the dongle. Put in any number just to
see which direction your dongle is off and go on from there. Mine is at
+38. For other SDR software, just look for the PPM adjustment and do the
same thing. Ensure your dongle is warmed up and stable, about 10 minutes,
before you calibrate.

I also have the Funcube dongle pro+ and by far FCD is a better product, but
for the price, RTL-SDR is worth playing :) ...have fun!

Hi folks I am interested to receive the satellites with the USB RTL-SDR
Dongle.
I found on eBay one called:
I bought on eBay the DVB-T USB Stick HD/DIGITAL TV Television FM Radio HDTV.
Tried to follow the instructions found on Jason's' page at:

http://n4jtc.wordpress.com/

but I get stuck on the step:

8.	Tune into a known frequency like the National Weather Service, this
is required to adjust the PPM

Please which is the frequency of the PPM?
I have tried to set the frequency on a local packet but cannot find it on
the Software.
Please can anybody give more help to set it in the right way?
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks for help in advance.

Hi Erich,

Yes! I had downloaded but not yet installed (don't know why) 12.8c on
my desktop PC back in January this year.
When I went to do the upgrade yesterday, I first was going to copy the
zip file from the laptop but when I saw the same version already in the
downloads on my desktop PC I just unzipped and ran that one.
So I redid things now with the June download of the zip file and
everyone is happy!

Thanks for your time and help.

Dear radio amateurs,

As most of you already know, LituanicaSAT-1 has been assigned OSCAR
designation LO-78. I would like to inform that currently transponder is
switched off to recharge the battery. We plan to turn it on when the
voltage level will be stabilized. Telemetry might be turned off most of the
time too. Anyway, if you copy the CW beacon, please report it to help us
track the status of the satellite. Thank You all so much for you support so
far. It is a great honor for us to become a member of the OSCAR family.

Just got a message from W3IZ stating that a new TQSL configuration
file has been released adding LituanicaSAT-1 (LO-78) to the satellite
tables.

Here are the instructions for updating your configuration files:

"TQSL 2.0 user have nothing to do. When opening TQSL for the first
time of the day the TQSL program will detect the update and ask you to
confirm installation.

TQSL 2.0 users can manually check for updates under the help button in
the TQSL toolbar.

See < www.arrl.org/instructions > More TQSL > Checking for updates.

Users of older versions of TQSL will have to download the file from
their user account under the tab "Your Account" then select "Your
Certificate" then select "Download Current TQSL Configuration File."

The file can be saved to a folder on your computer then loaded in TQSL
using the TQSL CERT - Load File utility."

I also can confirm that SO-50's actual downlink is lower than
published, by about -5 to -10kHz.

Paul,

Thanks for the update. The LOTW site has been down for the past
30-60 minutes, so I have not been able to get in and grab the new
configuration file. When I can, I will upload my LituanicaSAT-1
(LO-78) QSOs to that system from last week in my back yard and
Saturday afternoon/evening from DM54/DM55, and see if any of those
become QSLs.

Congrats all around! I was one of those 7... Right behind you, Paul, with
VUCC #249, also issued in March. I waited to submit 150 grids to match up

Those were all on RS-12/13. <sigh!> I miss that bird... :^)
