I have listened several times and never heard the CW beacon, so that's neat.
The channel 6D value shows the telemetry to be nothing more than
gibberish, unfortunately, as that number should be 50 +/- 1.

One way to measure the g/t is to use sun noise. You point your antenna
toward the sun and cold sky and measure the delta noise. Use that attached
ss to calculate the g/t . I have a similar system and let compare notes.
Also take a look at the SETTI League doc for back grown

Dear all,
We have a functional Ground station setup at QTH location MK68WM. We have a
2 Unit array of circularly polarized Yagi antenna mounted on antenna rotor
system for tracking satellites operating in UHF band.
Instrumentation available with us is Signal generators, Signal Analyzers,
Vector Network analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer. The ground station setup
includes antenna,Low noise amplifier, followed by 15m LMR 400 coax carrying
signals to Kenwood TS2000 and RF switches to protect LNA during
transmission.
We wish to obtain G/T ratio of our system. Could you please throw some light
on how to proceed?

I have experienced a similar problem in satpc32, although the error message
is not exactly the same. I see this only on a Win 8.1 PC. One thing I have
done with some success is to IMMEDIATELY update Keps as soon as satpc32
finishes booting. I am also interested in a permanent fix for this.

I tried an experiment today on the 1630Z pass . My normal
operating on SO-50
is a FT-530 (5W) to a standard Arrow... that?s about 15W
ERP, correct?
Today I tried a smaller, CJU antenna on RX (on the FT530),
and my 45W mobile
on my stock 1/2 wave mobile antenna (looking for a quick and
dirty set-up...
standing next to the car, mic through the window).
It was a 55 degree west pass for me. I confirmed I had the
correct tone set
and was on simplex and high power, and I could not hear my
myself. Not even
near AOS and LOS (low on the horizon).
Was I subject to the null off the top of the mobile TX
antenna? for those of you who
operate from your cars, what do you use for a TX antenna?
Power?
(btw, the CJU was a bit of a disappointment.... usable, but
not great)
Bill W1PA
(also btw, that was NOT me calling "CQ CQ 1 2 3" with no ID
on that pass -- if it was
_you_ reading this email, please go back and read one of the
FM satellite primers)

Dear radio amateurs,
A courtesy notice that LituanicaSAT-1 transponder will be operative until
June 5, 0100z. At about this time period a scheduled reset should occur and
both CW FM beacon on 437.275 MHz and 9k6 baud telemetry on 437.545 MHz
should be heard. We encourage you to send reports to find out how reduction
in sunlight will affect satellites power budget. Next update and
transponder operating schedule will be issued in 24h.

Bob,
I can tell you from years of experience with writing tracking programs for
Windows and iOS that one of the biggest problems is decay. Strange things
happen to math routines when the altitude of the satellite drops below the
surface of the earth. One solution is filtering out these decayed sats from
the list. The tracking program is the easy part the hard part is dealing
with "bad" tle data. The old saying in the computer biz - "garbage in,
garbage" out.
Less you think this stuff is trivial take a look at this fine work by G3RUH.
http://www.amsat.org/amsat/articles/g3ruh/111.html
Maintaining lists of satellites and web pages is very time consuming. Some
quit because it is a PITA. Fortunately there are some truly dedicated souls
who do not give in to the lame PITA excuse.
Dr. T.S. Kelso <TS.Kelso@xxxxxxxxx.xxx> is one. He maintains the most
reliable set of sat tle data I know of.
http://www.celestrak.com/
Another is Erich Eichmann who puts in countless hours of his time
maintaining and improving SatPC32. We all owe a great deal to these two
pillars of the hobby.
I suggest using the Celestrak data sets exclusively. There will be the
occasional sat that has decayed that may cause a problem but that is the
nature of the hobby. All the sat tracking programs are complex - the only
thing more complex than trying to figure out a sat tracking program is
trying to figure out two of them. I am sure others have a different opinion
but IMHO stick with SatPC32.

I was listening to AO-7 in Mode B as it rose at 2153Z.
At 2158Z, AO-7 suddenly switched from Mode B to Mode A.
At the time of the switch, there were two stations using excessive power
(badly FMing) on the bird. Not sure if that was a
coincidence or not.
Called CQ on Mode A in both CW and SSB with no response.

I had to try the last pass before that moment in JO22nc (and the first pass
in a while at a usable time for me). Heard at least two QSOs but couldn't
really make out the call signs. Tried CQ two times but no response (and I
was probably double with some other user one time).
Sofar I never managed to even hear this sat so this is an improvement. I
hope there will be further chances of using it.
(minutes before that one ARTSAT1 was scheduled to pass but heard nothing)

I find it odd that they did not reply to you in Mode A. Given that the
warnings about excessive power can lead to random mode switching on
AO-7 stretch back 37 years, one can only conclude that they wanted the
satellite to be in Mode A.
