HI
I cannot seem to get the ISS portion of the program to operate properly with
FT-847
1. Regular SatPC32 program works as it should
2. In ISS, I have CAT control (trigger on/off with C
3. SAT on the radio is turned off
4. In CAT, I can select the pair for the repeater and the downlink freg
will appear on the radio (VFO A) The initial freq in the program appears but
does not update further
5. Manual says "With the Yaesu FT-847 only use the 'TX' / 'RX'
controls of SatPC32ISSto switch
the radio to TX or RX, rsp.
Otherwise the VFO can't be tuned to the TX frequency
before the radio is switched to
TX."
Program is not displaying TX/RX buttons or controls nor am I
able to key tx with + or - keys on 10 key pad
6. FYI, there are no files shown in any o the aux files. (but, I suspect
that info is pulled from the main program)
I must have something set wrong. Any help appreciated
73,
Ted

NASA scaled back ops aboard the ISS today, as a cooling pump that circulates
ammonia outside the station to keep equipment cool failed.
NASA is still trying to figure out what exactly failed, and how to repair
it. An EVA is not out of the question.
NASA also stated that the ISS crew was not in danger at this time.
Watch your normal news sources for more details.

Greetings All,
Following the great success of our preliminary versions of our CAPE-2
Ground Station Software, I have just released Beta Version 1.1.1, which
opens up the ability to send a new slew of commands.
New Commands are listed below.
- Update Clock
- Set Green Mode
- Send Text to Speech (Voice Options: Perfect Paul, Darth Vader, Big
Bob, Precise Pete, Richochet Randy, Biff, Skip, Alvin the Chipmunk, Robo
Robert, Goliath, and Gretchen)
- Operate Voice Repeater
- Send Emails via CAPE-2
I also made some design changes to the software to make everything much
more user friendly, and secure. I am also adding a few additions to the
Getting Started Guide on the software's
page<http://ulcape.org/cape-2-ground-station-software-lite-edition/>.
Please review the new information before diving in. We are most interested
in results from the email command at current. So please try to send
yourself an email from CAPE-2!
Link: http://ulcape.org/cape-2-ground-station-software-lite-edition/
As always, please direct questions, comments, and concerns to me at
Rizwan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx
Thanks!

Hi Ted,
I do not have an FT-847 handy to test, but here is some information.
The TX/RX buttons have been moved. At the very bottom line, Obs, Config,
etc, hover your mouse. You
will get a message to "Double click to activate/deactivate RX/TX buttons."
They will appear in the
corners of the program.
I have a full complement of help files, including one for SatPC32ISS in the
"?" section.
Are you using Configuration 1? SatPC32ISS picks up most of its information
from SatPC32, and in the
past I found it did not get the correct radio information if I was using
Configuration 2.
Finally, check the frequency update interval, main program. If you have the
FM update set to 100 Hz,
it may take a significant time except during a pass for the Doppler to shift
enough to update.

Alan

Hi,
There is an excellent article by Mark Spencer, WA8SME beginning on page 43
of the January 2014 QST.
It mentions that a limited number of complete systems will be available
through the AMSAT Store. They
are not yet available, and we do not at present have a firm date when they
will be in stock. Because
of uncertainty of the price and number which will be available, we are not
taking advanced orders.
When we are ready to process orders, we will make the information public.
Please do not call the
AMSAT office.

Perfect Timing! I'm finishing up details of my Master's Thesis and
using Excel Curve fitting functions for some plotted simulation data
concerning link margin vs elevation.
This Pitfall sub-thread was perfectly timed to help me avoid showing
useless data without enough significant figures.
This listserv rocks, Thanks!!

Hi,
As part of our STEM outreach strategy we are making WOD available for
off-line analysis.
This is delivered as a .csv file which can be downloaded from the Data
Warehouse by clicking
on the link on the WOD page:
https://warehouse.funcube.org.uk/wod.html
The file is written at 23:59 UTC every day and contains the WOD for the
preceding 24 hours.
Please read the notes on the page regarding the times stored in the file.
Enjoy!
