Tom
the program supports the sub tone function of the FT-857 for woking SO-50.
If you configure the Icom as Radio 1 and the FT-817 as Radio 2 the 817
will transmit on 2m with FO-29, SO-50. Choose SO-50 and click the control T
to T1 or T2. A little "T" will appear in the display. The program will
correctly set the 67.0 and 74.4 tone frequency on the FT-817.
In menu "Radio Setup" check (only) the option "Autom. Rx/Tx Change" With
VO-52 and AO-07 mode B the FT-817 will then work as RX, so you can leave it
at the 2m antenna.

To work AO-07 mode A use a second "Configuration" (menu Setup). Configure
again the Icom as Radio 1 and the FT-817. Leave all options unchecked. With
AO-07 mode A the Icom will then receive on 10 m and the FT-817 will transmit
on 2m.

Mike,

Yes! Due to Martha's bad leg, and issues with the palatial AMSAT-NA
headquarters which have rendered
it periodically uninhabitable, we have not been able to begin shipping.
Martha's leg is coming along
well, and the power, heat, and elevator service are in the process of being
restored, so it should be
available "soon."

Seriously, it has been the perfect storm. The hard copy will be first, with
a CD available later.
When we are able to ship, we will announce that through the various AMSAT
news outlets. I have mine
from the meeting, and it is an excellent issue.

Ho!

I will have an AMSAT table at the Superstition Amateur Radio
Club's Superstition Superfest hamfest in Queen Creek AZ.
This hamfest is at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, a town
southeast of Phoenix - a new location. More information
about the hamfest is available at:

http://superstitionsuperfest.com/

WD9EWK will be on satellite passes from the hamfest, for
on-air demonstrations. Please call WD9EWK and say "hi" to
the crowd if you hear me. The hamfest is in grid DM43.? If
you work WD9EWK during the hamfest and want a QSL card,
please e-mail me with the QSO details. If you are in the log, I
will send a card.? QSOs will also be uploaded to LOTW after
the hamfest.

AMSAT's web site now has a list of upcoming events where
AMSAT will be represented.? Go to http://www.amsat.org/
and click on Events for pages with information on AMSAT
activities at events like the Dayton Hamvention or Orlando
Hamcation - events with a significant AMSAT presence.? Other
events, like this hamfest, are on a list reachable by clicking on
Events followed by clicking on Other Events from the drop-
down menu. This list of other AMSAT events is directly
accessible at:

Yep I'm definitely hearing stations again tonight, even with the preamp
off. It may be an image, I can see the same QSO up higher on the
spectrum display at about the same offset from the center frequency
145945 so that would make it about 145957 or so (give or take late night
calculating) and that is in the transponder window. Stations appear much
stronger on the spectrum display than the rest of the bumps.

As I noted earlier, the only few times I have heard traffic _on_
the AO-73 beacon frequency is when AO-7 is above the horizon
in the sun and in Mode B. VO-52 downlink traffic comes close
too occasionally, due to Doppler and orbits, but not _onto_ the
beacon per se.

And my ancient FCD is running just fine, with a highly selective
HB LNA and a very sharp multicavity notch for my local APRS
repeater at 144.800 MHz.

Hi all

5.1 v is essentially the battery voltage on our li cells which is very bad
news. We believe our charging scheme has failed and cooked our batteries. We
now think we have no battery capacity . The good news we can maintain a
positive power budget when we are in daylight. Please keep sending us your
signal reports
