Just got it to work. Is there a way I can add it to another group with just
the current operational satellites?

This may be a dumb question but did you close the program and restart again
before checking to see if it worked? SATPC32 needs to be restarted after
you make any changes in the files it reads.

Hi All,

Yes in telemetry (also known as educational) mode we have around 300mW and
this is a much higher average RF output than when in amateur (also known as
transponder) mode.

Total current drain is therefore greater when in educational mode. This is
convenient because we had planned that educational mode would be more useful
when the spacecraft is in local daylight - ie schools would be more likely
to be open. This is the primary mission of course. Also amateurs often have
to work during the day so would appreciate the availability of the
transponder during the local evening passes.

We were not, before launch, 100% certain that we would have a good enough
power budget to run the transponder during every eclipse period but, at the
moment, this seems to be ok - we still have quite a positive power budget.

Its a bit late here and we are quite tired after three very hectic days but
I hope the above explanation makes some sort of sense:)

Good point.

Now from what I read they are running the telemetry mode at the same time
with lower power.

More food for thought :-)

Hi,

Yes you can see that if you look at the realtime pa fwd power in eclipse it
varies quite a lot.

Ingore the reflected value error.

Hello to all!

I just had my first two - way contact via FUNcube-1 (AO-73) with Drew,
KO4MA.

The signal was very strong and stable, the SSB audio was excellent!

Once again, congratulations to the FUNcube-1 team!

>> ... too many ... what to do??? ...

First, know what you want to work and are capable of working. Of the 64 or
so birds deployed last week,
only a relative handful are ham radio-related.

There is plenty of opportunity to "hone" your tracking talents - with some
of the birds that send
telemetry. Even if you cannot decode the info, it is fun to be able to track
it! And if you do have
decoding software that some sites provide, all the better: Your reception
reports and received
data can help the control teams!

The Triton will be turned to a U/V crossband machine after its 90-day
project is completed. Watch
AMSAT-NA for details and freqs.

I am excited. Although I am not set up to decode the data from most of the
new birds, I will at least
have SEVERAL MORE PASSES A WEEK to be able to show off to others - to pique
curiosity!

Yes, 64 sats all in a week can lead to info overload. Just look at the ham
sats, and see if their modes
are workable for you. It is a very exciting time for amateur radio satellite
monitors!

One thing that these launches do for many is get you to know how to upload
Keplerian data from
sources other than the "east, pre-programmed" sources for your apps and
software! It makes us learn
how to import a plain textfile of these new two-line elements ... (grin)

Hi!

Here in central Arizona, I'm supposed to have over 300 days of
clear and sunny weather every year. Today was not one of those
days, and it has been wet into the evening. I did not get all of my
gear out to work the FUNcube pass that just went over the
continental USA around 0440 UTC, but I had no problems copying
it with an FT-817ND hanging around my neck and holding my Elk
antenna sticking out from the patio to the satellite. I heard K9QHO
in CW and a few others in SSB (K4FEG, KD8CAO, W5PFG, and
one or two others whose calls I did not remember in the walk from
the patio to my computer). I didn't think to bring my audio recorder
out; my mistake. I wasn't using a preamp, and had a 10-foot coax
run between the antenna and radio.

I hope the FUNcube crew keeps this mode going, as I am hoping
to get a chance to work it myself in a couple of nights. This should
be fun, even with the limited availability for amateur use at present.
Congratulations to everyone connected with this project!

73!

I attempted to upload a QSO using AO-73 as a satellite name in Logbook

number it appears the ARRL does not yet recognize it. I've opened a

Telemetry came thru loud and clear.

Transponder was strong, however I had to correct uplink frequency to about +
4 kHz. at the beginning of the pass. Kept changing too, so at the end of the
pass uplink frequency had to be + 5.2 kHz. to hear myself properly; and that
is with doppler correction enabled. Normally when keps are correct and
doppler is enabled, uplink frequency correction stays stable. Probably
2013-066B not the correct Keps ?

Brief contact with VK5EI, but then lost contact as antennas had to swing
around. Also heard VK2ZAZ.

You guys are killing me with all of this. I'm currently without a proper
Satellite station. My main satellite station is on a property that I'm not
currently living at and is now for sale. I will be living in an antenna
restricted neighborhood in Florida when all is said and done. As a
consequence of this I have a turnkey antenna satellite system for sale.
This antenna system is built on a 8' by 8' platform 4' tall. This platform
is made of treated lumber, and is bolted together and can be easily
dissembled and moved. The antennas are the large KLM's for 2 and .7m, a 2.4
gig rx, and a Direct Systems 1296 55L looped yagi. I have a complete
polarity control system for the KLM's, and a spare set of the polarity
control boards that mount on the antennas. Also included is several preamps
for 2m 70cm(both Kuhne), a 2.4gig, and a Yaesu 5500 rotor. I will throw in
some coax and hardline to complete the system. Anyone interested in the
package please contact me off list. I have plenty of other stuff for sale
also, email me and I will send you the 20 something page list.
I have already sold my 817 pair, and my 847. I still have an Icom 9100 I
might sell, but not sure. I still have an unopened in the box Cushcraft
AOP-1 antenna system I might keep the 9100 and use with, but the big KLM's
have to go as I just don't have the real estate to use them on anymore :-(
