I never thought I'd even think this, but with the plethora of recently
launched satellites, a few with transponders and some with other functions,
there are just too many. Trying to keep track of all the events is giving me
a headache! Is there or can there be a single place, web page etc where
there is a concise depository of information? Now it is just all over the
place. I suppose I should just focus on a few.

Hi Mike,
I selected in MIXW the modem called "VHF 1200 baud (Satellite PSK)" and
checked "Emulate KISS TNC on TNC emulation port" - the only place I found
KISS mentioned in MIXW..
What I got is this...:
TRIV0/-12*>TRIV0>UNKN,?
TRIV0/-13*/'-8>TRIV0>UNKN,?
TRIV0/-13*>TRIV0>UNKN,?
I guess I am missing something...? since I noticed that you decoded a full
HEX stream
I am using MIXW version 3.1.1
Thanks!

You can add new TLE's by using the Edit->Update TLE and choose network or
local files. I've found it interesting to get some of the funcube TLE's in
there, maybe Gpredict is being picky but it's worked. Also, there's a
downward facing arrow in the top right window of Gpredict with a
"configure" menu option. I've placed my cursor over it in one of the
screenshots. When you are in there you can add and remove satellites as
shown in the second screenshot. Hope this helps!

Hi Shamai,
this is correct. You need a TNC emulation and a software which decodes the
data into a kiss file. See my latest blog entry :
http://www.dk3wn.info/p/?p=38750
The next step is to decode the kiss file - I need more information from the
TRITON team. If they give me the information I can write the decoder
software in the usual matter.

Have a nice FT-847 and a beautiful MD-100 matching microphone for sale.
Comes with the original box and power cord. Tested it on the local
repeater. Works fine. Condition 8 out of 10. Case is nice with very minor
wear. Display has a scratch. Power button works fine. It is a year 2000
model. The MD-100 microphone looks like new.
These items were donated to our ARISS telebridge station and this is a
fundraising sale.
Will sell both within continental US and Canada for $950 shipped (!) as
well as considering offers on the radio and the microphone separately.
Picture available.
Please contact me directly if interested (my callsign at gmail.com).
Thanks, Stefan VE4NSA

I'm pretty sure I observed the short 9600 baud bursts from KySat-2 on
437.405MHz during the pass of objects over Los Angeles, CA from the
Minotaur launch a few days back. I was trying to help a friend who worked
on the COMPASS project (St. Luis University). I did not hear COMPASS on or
around 437.290 MHz. If anyone hears COMPASS from this batch of cubesats I'd
love to pass on the news.

Great!
Congratulations. I guess we have to wait until the sat is in the "dark" to
use it here in NA.
Just wondering why you would activate the transponder without having power
through the solar panels and consequently discharging the batteries (unless
that's the intent). Maybe I am missing something....

Would the transponder mode potentially have lower average power
consumption than full power telemetry mode?
In full power telemetry mode, it's putting out 300 mW the whole time. In
transponder mode, it's only putting out 30 mW + whatever it's taking to
relay the signals it's receiving. The transmitter would only be putting
out full power when it's in use.
Unless my thinking is completely wrong here...

I followed Erich's instructions as posted by Stefan I believe and I could
not see A0-73 appear in the list of Sats. Has anyone else figured out how
to get SatPC32 set up for this wonderful new bird?

Good point.
Now from what I read they are running the telemetry mode at the same time
with lower power.
More food for thought :-)
