Just for anyone else that runs across this equipment. I bought it off ebay
for around $25 a while back.

The TNC-MB96 is a Paccomm Tiny tnc with a built in 9600 baud modem. It can
be used by itself, without the PSK-1 for regular 1200b or 9600 baud packet.
There is a button on the back that changes the firmware from DED Host to the
regular TNC2 type firmware, this one has GPS support..

Yes, I noticed the Paccomm website is offline. Hope they are still in
business.

Thanks to those that replied.

  Mike,

They are Paccomm units, right? I've contacted them via telephone a few
times before, and they have always been helpful. It is possible that they
could send you new EPROMs to replace the current one(s), or maybe it's not
even necessary...they will help. I've also sent them a TNC for
upgrading/updating before, and it was worth the reasonable expense of doing
so.

Uh-oh---I just tried their website and it's down (suspended). You can
still search and find their phone number I'm sure...hopefully they are still
around and doing business!

From the link you posted looks like I have to use the TNC-MB96 and PSK-1
together to use it for regular 9.6k packet but I'm sure the TNC-MB96 could
work by itself. I'll look at the jumper settings..ect and see what I can
findout. Sure wish there were some birds up that I could use this with.
    Thanks for the reply,

      Looking at this:

it looks like it should work.

I picked this up a while back and it came with all the docs, jumper
info..ect. Can these be used for 9.6k baud regular packet? I hooked up the
tnc and it comes on with WA8DED Tnc Firmware V 2.6 . If it can be used for
regular packet can that firmware be replaced?
        Thanks

There's been mention on the web about NASA switching to using GNU/Linux on
its part of the ISS.

https://www.linux.com/news/featured-blogs/191-linux-training/711318-linux-foun
dation-training-prepares-the-international-space-station-for-linux-migration

From what's been said it would appears it's just the NASA section of the ISS
that is changing, rather than the Russian, ESA and JAXA sections is that
correct ?

Will this have any impact on the laptop running the Slow Scan TV and any
other amateur radio software ? I guess it depends on which organization owns
the laptop.

Hi to the list,
It is about 4 years that i was off the bird due to rifacing roof so i had to
pull down my antennas system.
In this week i have mounted again the antennas system and would like to test
them.
I went on the amsat.org site to see the satellites status and i saw that the
web is changed since my last visit and cannot find the requested page.
Any body can please tell me which are the satellites that still works and
perhaps also the frequencies as i saw that they have been launched mew ones?
Any help will be really appreciated.

Vincent,
Gordon Pearce just had a similar question which was answered. You can
check out the following websites:

Hope this helps!
