I know you will join me in sadness when you learn that Bdale and Karen lost
their home in the big Colorado fire. They are fine otherwise and staying
with friends, taken in by some Good Samaritan folks in their area.

It isn't regulatory approval. The ship has sailed by then. I'd love to
see a trusted friendly PSR (prior starting review) to help them select
reasonable achievable goals. The projects sound awesome, seem ambitious,
and get launched (if the get that far) and fail to achieve much on orbit.
The single independent study course or senior design project is not enough
continuity and memory to work well...

I had the pleasure of working Wilse, WX7P on AO-27, in the summer of 2009,
while I was portable on top of Cadillac Mtn. in Acadia National Park.
Maine was the last state he needed for WAS/Satellites. I still remember him
excitedly calling me with "Hey, are you in Maine?"
