Thinking about this, I have a 900mhz yagi in the garage, and both a dongle
or vr-5000 that will receive 900mhz. I might have to try this over the
weekend. Does it transmit continuously?

Like many, I'm eager to track the new satellites launched over the past
few days. If everyone will pardon more newbie questions, here goes:

1.) How do I input the published KEPS data for the new satellites into
SATPC32?

2.) How long before the standard files (amateur.txt, etc) will be
updated to include the new birds?

Update based on 18:50 pass

A keyed carrier goes through the transponder.
With both RX and TX Doppler shifting, Carrier Downlink shifts upward in
frequency at a rate faster than Doppler shift.

Was able to hear my carrier thru the Turksat transponder on 17:20 pass at
DN70

Behavior was strange, almost behaved like it wasn?t inverting (it is
inverting, correct ?).

SSB did not come through cleanly.

TX/RX offset varied during the pass.

I will be better prepared for 18:49 pass and get some panadapter screen
shots.

May also try BUGCUBE that pass

For the digitally challenged-what is the easiest way to input new keps? Use
monosyllabic words..keep it simple for simple people. Been messing around
for a couple of hours & ready to heave the computer out the window.

Bob,
Welcome to the world of the TLE's that don't work.
Each proggie seems to have it's own flavour. Not all work together.

Try to manually edit the tle's in their appropriate folder.

Then on to modify the .sqf file that I've never had any success doing.

If you're trying to use the turksat TLE, it's hosed. Nothing doing. For one
of the above mentioned reasons, it does not work with orbitron. Probably
not with Satpc32 either..
I'll be chasing doppler on Pegasus manually tonight..
Keep asking the questions!! I'll try to help.
Norm

What software are you using? I had issues with Orbitron for a while since I
realized that whenever I updated the keps nothing would actually happen.
Later on I found out that to update the keps you must run Orbitron as the
administrator to update it. Maybe this is relevant to you, maybe not.

Nothing heard for four passes here now. Tried all configs. Anyone heard
this bird? This thing ought to scream through the sky. Should hear it with
a whip.
