Trevor, thanks for all your work on finding the news.

It seems Trevor was among the first to pioneer a method of news
reporting about amateur radio in space (and, topics interesting to
satellite hams) where you roll out the news while it is still timely
and providing actionable information ... then, later summarize it into
a list of news whether that might be a web site or a weekly news
bulletin.

I agree -- many of us enjoy getting this news and appreciate the effort
involved in collecting this information.

I also have no problem with Trevor's amateur satellite related news
reporting....

I for one certainly enjoy and appreciate the information that Trevor
provides. I would speculate that many of us don't have the time to track and
monitor a lot of the space-related news. Besides, you won't ever hear about
most of it on the major news and cable channels. For those that don't want
to be bothered with Trevor's posts, I would suggest setting up the
appropriate filters in their e-mail applications, or else just use the
delete key.

What I'm very curious about, after seeing some of these postings, is how
those involved determine or know which piece of space junk did the damage to
a given object or satellite.

Dear Trevor, CNN are available here along with ABC, NBC, Fox, NASA channel
and every other media outlet on planet earth. (p.s. thanks to Al Gore, we
will now even be able to watch terrorist beheadings in real time)

Why, why, then, do you need to post every single fart that occurs more than
500 feet AGL anywhere on earth?

In the name of Jesus Christ, please, please give it a break with your serial
posting !!!

If this gets me kicked off the AMSAT reflector, so be it, but someone has to
say it

CNN are reporting the BLITS satellite was rendered inoperable after being
impacted by debris from a 2007 weapon test.

http://edition.cnn.com/2013/03/09/tech/satellite-hit/index.html

Wiki says the weapon test created 2,317 pieces of trackable size (golf ball
size and larger) and an estimated 150,000 debris particles so there's
clearly potential for more impacts.
