Weather satellite images on Amsat-LU Web

NOAA actual images are made available on AMSAT-LU web page
On the home page www.amsat.org.ar by clicking on METEOS or thru
http://www.amsat.org.ar/wx/index.html
These images are downloaded in real time using WXtoImg program. (available
in http://www.amsat.org.ar/wxinst2703.exe ), images processed and published
in AMSAT-LU web in real time.
Reception done using a PCR-1000 receiver commanded via RS-232, with 50 KHz
bandwidth and a crossed dipole antenna with reflector phased for circular
polarized reception provided by Adrian, lu1cgb. See connections at

For those who want to listen on a handy or base (should receive 137 MHz)
these satellites, you can get on same page calculated passes and published
frequencies, elevation and times of next passes for these satellites.
For who is not close to Buenos Aires forecast passes can be seen clicking on
your location on the map at http://www.amsat.org.ar/homee.html . These
passes are in your local time.
NOAA sats emit good power, they resemble the sound of a sewing machine, they
transmit two images side by side, one infrared and the next in visible
spectrum that are combined to generate color images published in Amsat-LU.

This capability drives for a new satellite expertise and adventure to the

and promote new satellite amateur meteorologists :).
