This morning I worked Jari OH2FQV in KP20Mmf. He thinks that the 7170 KM
distance may be a record for FO-29. I have never paid much attention to the
distance just count countries and grids and watch the foot print. After
some checking I did notice that there was about a minute between his LOS and
my AOS.

Best in 2013 to all

During the next 12 months Craig VK0JJJ is in Antarctica and plans to access
the satellites on 2m and 70cm using a crossed duo-bander.

I am curious has anyone heard anything?

I know all three objects are technically satellites, but I am guessing three
objects means (satellite, final stage booster, and ????)

73,
Joe kk0sd

Below are the KEPs for the three satellites launched by North Korea
on 12-12-2012 as recorded by SpaceTrack.

The frequency of the beacon is reported to be around
470 MHz.

It seems to me that some smartphones have sensors for elevation and
azimuth, and the capacity to calculate those for satellite passes.
Has anyone combined all that so that one could just attach the 'phone to
the antenna boom and have it indicate where to point it?

This would be particularly useful for the analog sats, since very little
attention would need to be paid to antenna pointing.

Gentlemen,

There is vote going on till midnight CET (GMT + 1) tomorrow for electing
the Team of the Year 2012 in Hungary.
Please vote for MaSat 1 (MO-72) student and engineer constructors' and
commanding team at

http://azevembere.rtlklub.hu/jeloltek/1435

As you know Masat-1 cubesat is still working and just sending thanks to
tracking stations including their callsigns in beacon messages.
Beside this, QSL cards are also on their way via the bureau and direct
to those who has no QSL service.
