Gunter's Space Page says Kwangmy?ngs?ng 3 has data in the UHF band and video
in the X-band.

Anyone know the frequencies ?

The Zara site is suggesting looking for a modulated signal near 470.00 MHz,
further info at
http://www.zarya.info/Gallimaufry/Kwangmyongsong32.php
Jonathans Space Report http://www.planet4589.org/space/jsr/jsr.html says:
US tracking then cataloged object 39026 as 2012-072A in a 494 x 588 km x
97.4 deg sun-synchronous orbit with a 0900 local time descending node; two
further objects were cataloged in similar 497 x 582 and 498 x 570 km orbits.
'Kwangmyongsong' means 'lodestar' or 'star of hope' and is believed to be a
reference to former leader Kim Jong Il.

Hopefully it is a weather satellite as the news has reported. The thing
that has got me wondering is the Airforce just put its shuttle up in space
again...its just kind of odd to me the launches were so close together time
wise. I saw a clip taken from the Chinese border of the rocket heading into
space.

I have often wondered what would happen if N. Korea, Iran or other "similar"
country volunteered to put up a amateur radio satellite? The political
ramifications would be "interesting" to see. Would NASA, ESA, etc finally
"step" up?
