Does anyone know when the next version of HamSatDroid will be released?? I
know
it will not be free but I think the program is worth paying for and we need to
support the efforts of individuals that are writting quality code for Android
devices.

Thanks,

Doug

It's one of the features that are planned for HamSatDroid but it could also
be exposed as a service too.

What is the meaning of "work NO-44"?

Does that mean you digipeated packet data through NO-44?
Does that mean you had a 2-way exchange of packet data with another user?

I'm not trying to start an argument or belittle the accomplishment-I'm
just ignorant and want to know what it means.

Graham,

I thought there was a request in the 2012 IARU Satellite Forum held at
Guildford for a volunteer to create such a database ? I don't know if any
volunteers have come forward yet.

I am not aware of anything online that gives concise information on one page
as to which satellites have been launched, the frequencies they use and
which are still operational.

As Peter has mentioned the AMSAT-DL website provides a really excellent
reference. It does though require you following the links to find Downlink
frequencies. Uplinks aren't always given on the linked pages and arguably
Uplinks such as control channels "use" frequencies just as much as
Downlinks. Of course determining operational status could be problematic.

Hi!

Hector CO6CBF is in Miami! The flight from his home city Cienfuegos
arrived in the late morning, then Hector went through Customs and
Immigration at the Miami airport. After that, he has been spending
the day with his friends in Miami before I meet up with him tomorrow
morning. Hector and I chatted on the phone in the late afternoon
after I arrived from Phoenix, and - in English and Spanish (he's
wanting to speak more English this week) - said he was very happy to
be in Miami. Hector confirmed he was allowed to stay in the U.S. for
7 days under his U.S. entry visa, and he will fly home next Wednesday
(10/31) morning.

I am not sure Hector has access to his two e-mail accounts back in
Cuba while he is in the U.S. I will confirm that in the morning,
so please be patient if you sent Hector an e-mail and he has not
responded to it. I will see him tomorrow morning, and we should be
in Orlando around midday.

For me, it was almost surreal that I was able to dial a Miami phone
number, instead of a Cuban phone number, and hear Hector's voice on
the other end of the call. Seven months of work paid off, and now
we can look forward to seeing and hearing Hector at the Symposium
this weekend. Thanks again to everyone who played a part in this
effort, no matter how big or small the contribution was, and whether
or not your contribution was monetary or something else. Everything
fell into place, some of it approaching the last minute, but we did
it. :-)

Some interesting papers including Inter-Satellite communications using
lasers to be presented at this conference.

CubeSats get a mention in a presentation by Ronald A. Fevig, N0UCV, from the
University of North Daykota about an Optical cubeSat downlink using LEDs, a
telescopic lens and a CCD, see

Hi,

HSD in the works at the moment.

Subject to other developments on:

Strand-1 Data App (to fly on the phone)
FUNcube 1&2 Data Warehouse

Thanks to all for all the feedback on HSD. In reality, mid December for
HSD updates.

Hi,
Not quite the answer to the question or containing the information that was
 being pursued
The UDS_Satellite_Database is a very comprehensive list of satellites
launched or constructed with other
background information,
I am mentioning it because it is in an "EXCEL" format and could therefore
be used as tool and starting point
to edit and or add the information required.
I did attempt to do something on these lines a few years ago especially as
on our 80 metre Amast-UK net
information we usually get asked about satellite details.
The problem was and still is, managing such a list bearing in mind that we
now have many " cubesats"
being launched. Quite a number are not listed or classed as an "Amatuer
Satellite " status but still have many followers - from what I gleam on
the BBS.
The source and release of information on the status or operation of some of
the satellites has been very difficult to pursue, thus keeping any
proposed file updated is perhaps beyond its manager at the moment.
Regards
Ken Eaton
GW1FKY
Amsat- UK
Amast NA

Ps. I trust that all goes well for the gathering in Florida and that the
approaching hurricane does not
cause to many problems especially with travel and the proposed
tours.
