Hello all,
I listened for it at sunday october 14th at 21:13 UTC aprox. The beacon
signal starts at RS-15 AOS and then it became stronger as the elevation
raised over my ground station. It also showed the typical doppler shift.
Please, excuse my ignorancy, but, can someone tell me a little bit about the
history of this satellite? What happen to it, why it fail and when, and any
other info like this. Is the transponder dead beyond recovery or can be
return to operational?
Thanks!!!
73,
Raydel, CM2ESP

Paulo et al. I tried various up link frequencies, and power levels, I also
monitored the beacon while uplinking and there was no down link or any
change in the beacon. It was a very interesting and fun satellite back in
the day. I could work into Ja and a lot of Europe from CN87wk Seattle, Wa.

Can someone suggest a thread locking liquid that can be used in space and
possibly a source.

IIRC, LocTite makes some, but it's not a "commercial" product listed on
their website.

Not trying to be funny, but what about solder? Or some sort of adhesive
like epoxy or CA? I mean, it's not like you're going to need to
unfasten it (whatever) at some later date, right?
