The numbers are low, was there an option to vote on line? That may be
something to look at for next year or something like it

I disagree with the principle of prodding apathetic people to vote. If
somebody isn't willing to do the research, fill out a card, and mail it
back, then why should we go out of our way to get a vote they themselves
apparently don't care about. I'm more interested in the opinions of those
who are motivated enough to do this relatively simple task. I don't
understand the fixation with getting a higher percentage of the membership
to vote.

Perhaps I am not the only one this happend too, but...... The long lag
in receipt and return deadline caused mine to get covered up and
forgotten until too late. If the deadline were shorter, I would have
voted and put it back in the return mail the next day.

I got a ballot... Why would I care? I became a (European) LM about 15-20
years ago... I have been ignored on at least three occasions and rejected on
2 more when trying to volunteer for technical work. I now spend my time and
money in places where it is appreciated...

We streamed the entire symposium in Chicago, granted it was audio only, but
a lot of it depends on the hotels internet, this year BATC even warned that
they might not be able to live stream if the hotel connection wasn't good.
Last year they tried streaming the General Meeting, I caught the first
bits, it was done with an iPad which may not be the best choice, streaming
to the AMSAT Echolink reflector requires a couple of "backdoor" things to
avoid timeouts and interference form other stations as we do with the ARISS
contacts and I don't believe that bit of software is available for iPad.
Also the hotel in San Jose may not have had good internet. I like the idea
of live stream but I'm probably in the minority.

Hi Iain,
no - they are totally different projects!
CAMSAT ?is the Chinese AMSAT organisation I believe
CAMcube is the working name for a joint venture project between Cranfield
University and AMSAT-UK. This will/may be a 1 or 2U cubesat and is in
response to ESA's recent Notification of
Interest?http://www.esa.int/SPECIALS/Education/SEMRLXSX55H_0.html

The IARU E Newsletter September 2012 covered WRC-15 issues relating to the
Amateur-satellite Service and the ARRL website has the story at:
http://www.arrl.org/news/looking-ahead-to-wrc-15
It covers issues such as the proposed use of the Amateur-satellite Service
Primary allocation 77.5-78.0 GHz for automotive applications.
Agenda Item 1.18 proposes considering a Primary allocation to the
radiolocation service for automotive applications at 77.5-78.0 GHz in
accordance with Resolution 654 (WRC-12).
Additionally the shortage of Amateur-satellite Service spectrum at VHF/UHF
is covered.

I won't give out my exact life member number, but rounded to hundreds is
2200. It was issued in 1997.
Wow, not sure how many are officially declared deceased. 2200/3176 is a
pretty high percentage.
