Hi all,
The rf noise here in Lima is horrific. Good news is that I brought a
vhf filter. Bad news is I left the uhf filter at home. Did hear myself
on AO-7 mode b.
fo29's beacon is buried in the noise. Preamp or not.
Will switch locations tomorrow to try and alleviate the problem. New
location is fh17LT.
The 1650z pass tomorrow for fo-29 is my next try. Will stick around
for the next so50 pass at 1900z if everything works.
Norm

Maker Faire Detroit will be held at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn,
Michigan (EN82) on July 28 - 29, 2012. Amateur Radio will play a major part
in this year's event, as it has for the past three years. Using the special
event callsign, N8M, the Ford Amateur Radio League and a conglomeration of
other local Detroit area clubs will host a large setup displaying various
amateur radio modes and equipment, including:

- HF SSB and digital station

- HF CW station, including various homebrew QRP equipment

- Satellite stations
    - stationary - Yaesu FT-726 and homebrew yagis on a 12-foot mast
    - hand-held portable - two HTs and an Arrow antenna

- Fast-Scan ATV and video

- VHF voice/cw/digital

- HSMM-Mesh

- ARRL and misc information table

- RACES/SKYWARN

The satellite stations will be on as many passes of AO-27, SO-50, FO-29 and
VO-52 as possible within the hours of operation, 1330 - 2200 UTC both days.
QSL via Ford Amateur Radio League, PO Box 2711, Dearborn, MI 48123

Mike, N8MR

Hope it works, could be a cheap way to raise the orbit.

Station 2 Oscar 12 Whiskey was heard and worked on FO-29 this
morning. QSL info is on qrz.com. This is a special event
station celebrating the London 2012 Olympic Games. They are
operating from IO81IJ. They should be active for several weeks.

John K8YSE

Hello John & BB,

I worked this station yesterday, took several repeats to make a QSO.
Also today there was number of stations trying to make a contact. 2O12W
station has a good signal to the satellite but they seem to have
problems to copy the downlink.

Mika, OH8MBN
