I'm back at our summer lake place and trying again to work birds using a
TS2000 and stationary antennas which I've been experimenting with now for 2
summers. Not very impressive just yet but also fooling around with
different software including macdoppler and HRD satellite software running
windows on a MacBook pro. I spend too much time it seems trying to find
myself, in part because I'm more used to my ft847 at home which I prefer to
the kenwood. Anyone out there using the ts2000 have any suggestions for
finding yourself using cw and HRD or macdoppler I'd appreciate the advice.
I've learned with these stationary antennas that QSOs are possible but you
have to move quickly.

The F-1 CubeSat featured on VTV1 and included an interview with XV9AA.

See the TV broadcast at http://www.uk.amsat.org/?p=8861

Also on the AMSAT-UK site is report on todays opening of the National Radio
Center (NRC). The satellite antennas at the NRC were provided by AMSAT-UK.

Hello every one,

I finally got the ink for my deskjet printer to continue printing my QSL card.
Please if I owe any one of you a printed QSL card, please send me an e-mail
off-list with the details, i usually work from my roof with so many things
and in some passes are not logged properly, specially the time and grids...

Las Vegas, Arizona area help needed among others?

The annual Operation On-Target of scouts and hams manning dozens of mountain
tops out west and back east to attempt signalling with mirrors and Ham radio
is taking shape for Saturday 21 July.

Here is the current map. http://goo.gl/maps/zc33

Although we pretty well have the Appalachains covered from GA to Maine (with
some gaps still needed), for the first time we are starting to see lots of
participation out west. On the above map there seems to be a mountain chain
forming in So Cal and in Utah. All we need are a station or two in the Las
Vegas, western Arizona or death valley area to link them up.

This year will be the first year for APRS to do the Golden Packet linking
out west. There are already dozens of hams out there involved, but we need
them to use their APRS radios to bring the event alive.

For more info please see http://aprs.org/at-golden-packet.html

they undergo their final Soyuz spacecraft fit. Live NASA TV coverage
of the Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome
in Kazakhstan begins at 8:30 PM CDT on Saturday, July 14 (0130 UTC

The trio will arrive at the station on July 16, joining NASA Flight
Engineer Joe Acaba, KE5DAR, and two Russian cosmonauts: Expedition
32 Commander Gennady Padalka, RN3DT, and Flight Engineer Sergei
Revin, RN3BS. Acaba, Padalka and Revin have been aboard the ISS

X-FLARE! Big sunspot AR1520 unleashed an X1.4-class solar flare on July 12th
at 1653 UT. Because the sunspot was directly facing Earth at the time of the
blast, this is a geoeffective event
