Are there any stations in South America to gate aprs packets to the
net from the uhf freq? How does one do this? I've got a few Byonics
TT4's from a balloon project.
The story: I'll be driving the Panamerica Sur from Lima to Nazca Peru
and would like to have the ability to be seen via the net.

To commemorate the launch of TELSTAR, W2NFA AT&T Middletown Amateur
Radio Club will operate a special event station at the site of the
Holmdel Horn Antenna. (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holmdel_Horn_Antenna )

The horn antenna at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Holmdel, New
Jersey, was constructed in 1959 to support Project Echo?the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration's passive communications
satellite project which used orbiting aluminized plastic balloons as
reflectors to bounce radio signals from one point on Earth to another.

Later the horn was used as a radio telescope by Arno Penzias and
Robert Wilson in the discovery of the cosmic microwave background
radiation leftover from the "Big Bang."

SSB 21.325 14.275 7.275
CW 7.040 14.040 21.040.

We will be attempting satellite contacts on FO-29 and AO27 at the
following times (UTC):
AO27 16:48 - 16:54
FO29: 17:20 - 17:40
AO27: 18:28 - 18:35

I worked at the Andover, Maine TelStar station for 10-12 years. It is now
owned by Verizon I think. Ask anyone about the Radome or AN02 as it was
known.
