Hi Guy's,
?
I think I was the only station from CN85 working this particular pass. I
didn't hear any other station from CN85. I'm kind of taken back when some
unidentified station identified "the CN85" station as always having problems
and he doesn't know what he's doing or having problems with. You know what,
maybe?your are right.
?
But then I could hear the sat very well, I could hear my station identify
myself, and I did very much not try to step on any one already in
communication that had control of the sat and waited my turn until it cleared.
?
I would have very much preferred to have an email or a call from someone
offering to help?a station?that's relatively new to sats and act as an elmer
rather than cast the aspersions as I heard. I am new to sats and I'll not
apologize for that. I do have not have a lot of experience with the Icom 910
but I've tried to assemble a?reasonable satellite?station. More help would
be appreciated than criticized over the air.
?
73? Joe KT7E CN85

hi Joe, they were probably jealous of your great call sign. thanks for
learning me a new word, aspersions. hihi. maybe you could describe your
station setup and all the journeymen/journeywomen on here (not me) can give
some suggestions and help. keep on rockin' on the sats, and have fun. amsat

Hi Joe,

You just keep it up! If you hear yourself on the Sat you are doing fine. I
would even go a step further and say play with the Sat. Reduce your power
and see what happens. Change your doppler settings and see how your signal
drifts. Learn as much as possible and most of all have fun and yes if you
have questions, just ship me an email. Been around for while. If somebody
has a concern or problem and they don't have the simple courtesy to contact
you in person via email or phone call, just plainly ignore it. You are a
licensed ham radio operator and you should be proud of discovering new
aspects of the hobby. Keep it up!

Seems to me you are the better op. Sounds like you were doing everything
right. It was the other station who needs a refresher on unidentified
transmissions. Lady I heard they were illegal.

Fortunately, the elmers far out number the jerks.

Enjoy the birds. It's a great part if the hobby.

Guess the notice was too short, only worked EI5EV, no one else heard
anywhere on the downlink. Guess the Americans were sleeping and the
Europeans were setting up antennas for VHF Field Day, which will be starting
in 2 hours.

This weekend I am with the OM3KII contest group at Velka Javorina in JN88uu,
right on the border between Czech and Slovakia. Great location at 970m ASL.
Noticed that the 2m and 70cm operating positions were close enough to be
able to listen on 2m while transmitting on 70cm. Just wish I had thought
about working the sats sooner. Maybe next year.

Does anybody else need PA for the 13 colonies? I have had no takers in two
days and will be going to DE to help get
some contacts this afternoon. If anybody still needs PA please let me know
and I will be there if needed.

I am a real fan of the ZAGG Sparq 2 portable power supply. 6,000 mAH -
that's right:
SIX AMPS of portable power to charge/run just about ANY of your USB-charged

Well - Invisible Shield is running a promo right now: 50% OFF. FREE shipping.

That's just $49.95 for the unit.

Use my links to purchase, and $5 of each sale will be donated to either the
AMSAT-NA,
the ARRL, or The Rotary Foundation (your choice).

Go to my e-store at ...

NOTE: This is a BLATANT COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENT. I will make a couple bucks
off of each sale ... but, then, I give most of it away to one of those
worthwhile organizations.
Oh, well. Can't say I am TOO business savvy ...
