Thanks Domenico,

Yes, ESA is interested in a moon payload and some of the space agencies
including CSA (the agency I work with) has some interest. To simple propose
a transponder would not fly. However, a transponder/transmitter that would
allow a university experiment to transmit data back and be also useable for
ham radio is just one of many potential ideas. The whole purpose of this
exercise is for us to think a little bit outside of the box and link up
with partners to help them and us. It is all about leveraging resources and
capacities and if we (AMSAT) have a future at all, we need to do this more
often.

Hope this Helps,

Stefan VE4NSA

Hi!

I will have an AMSAT table at the White Mountain Hamfest in Show Low,
Arizona, this Saturday (2 June) morning. The hamfest, like most in
Arizona, is a half-day event. During the hamfest, I will have on-air
demonstrations using satellites (FM and SSB) that are passing by.
Please call WD9EWK if you hear me. It appears that AO-7 should be
in mode B Saturday morning, so I hope to be on those passes as well
as VO-52 and anything else I can hear. Depending on how long past
noon (1900 UTC) there are people still at the hamfest, I might even
work an AO-27 pass from there. More information about the White
Mountain Hamfest is available at:

http://www.kachina-arc.org/Page/Hamfest.html

After the hamfest, I may drive to a spot northeast of Show Low on
the DM44/DM54 boundary - or just find a spot somewhere in grid
DM54 - for any afternoon and early evening passes before driving home.
To see where I am traveling, you can follow me as WD9EWK-9 via APRS at
http://aprs.fi/wd9ewk-9 (among other ways to look up APRS information).
I will also try to post e-mail updates to this list, and also via my
Twitter feed @xxxxxx (use http://twitter.com/WD9EWK if you are not
subscribed to Twitter).

If you work WD9EWK on Saturday and would like to receive a QSL card,
please e-mail me with the QSO details. No need to first send a card.
I will also upload Saturday's QSOs to the Logbook of the World.

73!

We will be on the satellites again this year for the special event. The
only state not being represented this year is PA, unless someone decides to
volunteer.

Here is a link to the satellite page with the list of operators.

A final reminder that nominations for the AMSAT-NA Board of Directors
elections are due by June 15th. This year there are three regular seats on
the Board to be filled, plus up to two alternates to be selected. Regular
members will serve for two years, and alternates for one year.

If you want to run yourself, or you know someone you feel should run, this
is your chance to influence the direction of our organization. You will
find the details in this weekend's ANS release, or at WWW.AMSAT.ORG toward
the bottom of the front page.

I have run through all the CAT radioes that I can find.

The end result is that they are specific to each radio.

It is obvious, there is no backwards compatibility.

The radioes the software was written for are listed as radioes.

I thought I could re-write something to work with my radioes.

As a result of this I am doing step tuning. It will be fussy, but it is my
only was. I will step both radios.

If I end up really into this, then I will try to get a listed radio.

Alan

Does anyone have a pushbotton optocoupled tuning box they don't have a use
for?

Frequently this is the case. I've found that hamlib supports damn near
anything that I've thrown at it. Gpredict and hamlib work particularly
well.

I tried Gpredict and hamlib under Windows a few times--my recollection
is that there was an issue with comports higher than 1 or 2...as in,
it didn't work.

Does this work now?
