The International Telecommunication Union received notification from North
Korea of its planned satellite launch, the Geneva-based organization
confirmed today (Monday).

The DPRK?s launch notification says the ?Kwangmyongsong-3? satellite is
scheduled for launch around April 12 to 16th, a spokesman for the U.N.
organization said via e-mail.

It states the satellite is being launched in ?pursuant of the State plan for
space development,? which mirrors last week's official launch announcement.

The satellite will broadcast remote data in the UHF band and video in the
X-band, the ITU quoted the DPRK?s notification as saying.

==
DPRK will likely use ITU satellite allocations (UHF, X)

Dee Interdonato, NB2F died on April 8th. He was a long time Area
Coordinator for NJ. Not only did he handle the booth at many NJ hamfests
throughout the year but was also an invaluable help at Dayton. Several
years ago, we needed help at the Greater Baltimore Hamboree & Computerfest.
Dee and his wife,Ginny, drove down and worked the booth for 2 days.I could
always count on him to"elmer " any new ham who had technical questions.
Before retiring, Dee was the supervisor of the Radio Shop of the Port
Authority of NY/NJ. He was a member of ANJRPC, BARA, Bergen County CERT,
AMSAT and the Treasurer of BC FM Association. His funeral will be on Friday
at 9:00 AM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N Main St, Lodi NJ . In lieu of
flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of
America, 8719 Colesville Rd #100, Silver Spring MD 20910 or AMSAT, 850
Sligo Ave #600, Silver Spring MD 20910.

Dee was one of those people who did so many things, large and small, for
AMSAT that it is hard to count them all. Whenever it involved outreach,
news, and publicity, Dee was sure to be there, often behind the scenes. 73s

This is such a shock! Among the many other things he did for AMSAT, Dee was
one of the faithful ANS Bulletin Editors for several years. We will miss

It's very sad to hear this news about Dee. I've had the pleasure of chatting
with him on occasion, but know him mostly by his impeccable reputation as
the go-to person on so many subjects and issues dealing with ham radio.
His invaluable help on the ARISSat-1 project should also be noted. He will
be emormously missed.

This is sad news. I did not know Dee, being a relative newcomer to the AMSAT
community, but his posts here were always informative and it is obvious he
was well liked and respected. He always seemed to be the voice of reason
when the flames started to get too hot.

A big loss to the Community.

My sympathies to his family & friends.

I last spoke with Dee on 3/26/12 asking me, with his trademark enthusiasm,
if I was going to Dayton. Martha introduced me to Dee when I started with
the Amateur Satellites, helping me with the Linear Transponders. As a NY
Area Coordinator Dee taught me how to run an AMSAT booth, always asking me,
when is your next Hamfest. He was an outstanding ambassador for AMSAT and
Amateur Radio. RIP Dee....

Besides his work with AMSAT, I remember Dee as being one of the examiners
who graded and/or signed my Proof of Passing Certificate after my taking an
FCC Commercial General Radiotelephone Operator License exam back in the
mid-1990s.

He will be missed.

I'm in shock. I just saw Dee at a NJ hamfest on March 17th, he was working

booth's together several times over the years. This is a great loss to the

This is very personal to me, as he was a good check in to my Sat-Chat Net.
I teared up a bit when I heard about this. He will be greatly missed! God
bless! **The SatChat held on the *AMSAT* EchoLink server will be April 21,
2012 at 7pm CENTRAL TIME. This will be a tribute net. Please join us.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Dee's passing today.

Dee was a long time friend and hard working AMSAT volunteer. He took his
AMSAT Area Coordinator position seriously, by continuously representing
AMSAT at many, many hamfests over the years. He was a primary resource in
responding to questions via the Web site and people calling the AMSAT
office. You could always depend upon Dee to help out at the AMSAT booth at
Dayton each year. He and Ginny would attend the yearly AMSAT Symposiums and
Dee would many times be at the AMSAT Board Meetings. Every three weeks Dee
would put together the ANS and distribute it.
Dee will be sorely missed.

My condolences to Ginny and the family.

73- Martha
