This is not one of my satellite auctions on E-Bay, but I thought this
apparently handmade military orbit calculator might be of interest to a
collector. The seller is entertaining offers. Maybe a good item to have
in the "bomb shelter".

AO-51 is extremely weak now. Normally AO-51 would
produce a signal in excess of .6 uV at the receiver
in the shack. This is from a 40el KLM with a 20'
9913 pigtail and 50' of 7/8" Heliax. The maximum
signal strength on the 2113z 24Nov pass (38 degree
elevation) was only .22uV. It is down about 7 or 8
db from just a few days ago. As a comparison, a
SO-50 pass at 2151z (6 degree max) produced .25 uV.
SO-50 continues to fade severely whereas AO-51 does
not exhibit that fading on Left Hand Circular.
AO51 was in the sun for about 40 minutes before my AOS.
The angle might not have been that great but it wasn't
that close to darkness.
It's getting harder to hear AO-51 now. Many stations are
heard but don't respond when called. Let's hope it stays
on the air. The data buzz is now heard all the time where
a week ago it only appeared a minute or two before eclipse
on the morning passes and was never apparent on the afternoon
passes. Even with the low power it's still a great satellite.
Use it while it is still working.

John K8YSE

How do I know whether or not the data I have been submitting has in fact
been received? I noticed my call sign does not appear in the list on
DK3WN SatBlog and I am sure I have submitted more frames than some of
those listed. Up until now, I was not interested in a certificate but
after seeing a copy of one, I would now like to get one. I have all my
CSV files so I can send them in, if necessary. I also have several wav
files of the Voice transmissions. I have SSTV images and wav files
posted on my website at www.w8krf.net. Is there something else I need
to do to get the certificate?

AO-51 passes early tomorrow at 0921z and 1100z the eastern and western
pass.?? I will make the quick drive over to EM48bx / EM49ba and then back to
Columbia.... I will probably head back to KC before the first AO-27 pass....

Well I sure miss the early morning passes thats for sure. I can hear it
about as well as SO-50 now without the fade like you said John. Thats using
a Diamond 10 element 70cm and 9913 coax for receive. Been having a little
trouble goin in with 3 watts, thats what my meter says anyway. I did get a
easterly Turkey Pass with WA4NVM and AJ5C today at only 4 deg. elevation
before I lost it so it is working.
Not much left to talk on up there...:( Maybe Opera will buy us one?

Anyone interested in a Gulf Alpha Dual Band Easy SAT Antenna. I just
upgraded to a pair of cross polarized beams and cant see keeping this thing
around. 1 yr old and in perfect shape. $175 paypal shipped.
On another note seems as though AO-51 is on its last legs, really weak last
couple of days ..

If you are interested in a certificate for ARISSat reception, the
directions are at
http://www.arissat1.org/v3/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=b
log&id=61&Itemid=137
If you are just interested in submitting BPSK1000 telemetry, you can
configure ARISSatTLM to
forward telemetry to the telemetry server. Instruction are included in the
Quick Start Guide
(pages 5-6) available at
http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/images/fck_images/ARISSatTLM-QuickStart%281%29.
pdf
You just have to enter your callsign and check the box. And, even if you
are submitting telemetry
over the Internet, you are still encouraged to email your .CSV files from
ARISSatTLM to
telemetry at arissattlm dot org.
In Carl's case, the telemetry server IS receiving his forwarded telemetry.
I've sent Carl a separate
email with his details.
Keep sending in your telemetry. AMSAT also has a separate contest for the
LAST telemetry frame
received from ARISSat-1.
And, if you just want to sit back and watch, you can always see the latest
telemetry that has been
submitted at
http://www.arissattlm.org/live
This web page gets updated about once a minute anytime anyone anywhere in
the world submits
ARISSat telemetry over the Internet.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Douglas KA2UPW/5

I just received a LoTW confirmation for AO-13 14 NOV 1990 mode B QSO
with CE0ZZZ. Brings back memories. I sure missed the high orbit birds.
I have been active on AO-07 and VO-52 mode B lately and enjoy, but I
hope I live to see another high orbit bird.
I have been using my Flex-5000 software defined radio with 70 CM
transverter and 2M down converter lately. Pretty cool to see whole
satellite down link and search for other signals while calling CQ using
SDR multiple receive capability.
BTW , I have all 1822 of my satellite QSOs uploaded to LoTW and only 27
confirmed. 7 of the confirmed are for QSOs before 2009. I had 1609 QSOs
before 2009.
If you haven't uploaded your old or new SAT QSOs, please do.
