ClydeSpace - This short video shows one of the first tests of our doubel
deployed solar panel prototype. The system has an integrated thermal knife
and driver and is designed to be CubeSat structure independant (i.e. the
hinges and operation do not require structure modifications). The system has
also passed tests at +80C and -40C.

Due to unforseen mechanical issues involving the launch vehicle
hydraulic system and exhaust ducts, the launch date of AubieSat-1 has
been postponed until 27 October, 2011. More specific details about the
problem can be found here:
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/NPP/launch/index.html
We will keep you informed if any additional changes are made to the
launch.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes. Edit->Preferences->Ground Station->New. Put in your Lat/Lon and
you're done.

Automatic update via Web, or manually read in text Keps file. Web fetch is
configurable as to source. which element files to use, and when to update.

Or in other words, it doesn't get in your way while operating.
It doesn't override adjustments you make to the frequency on the
radio unlike for example HRD.

Kev,

AO-16 is not currently working.

There is a problem with the watchdog timer in the satellite. While a ground
station (usually Mark, N8MH) can command the satellite into the FM/USB
repeater or bent-pipe mode, the watchdog resets the satellite within 30
seconds.

It was working for a period of time when the satellite was always
illuminated by the sun. This elevated the temperature of the electronics
and kept the watchdog from resetting the satellite. Unfortunately, the
satellite is seeing an eclipse every orbit which has lowered the
temperatures. It will be several years before AO-16 enters a period without
eclipses again.

Mark checks AO-16 every few weeks to see if things have changed, but for the
past year or so the watchdog immediately resets the bird.

Sorry.

I logged a total of 34 contacts (some dupes and can't read my writing on one
K3, but I'll check John's recording later) from EL18. If you need a QSL
card for this grid, please just send me an email and I'll drop you one in
the mail: k5oe at amsat dot org

I will be fishing down near Rockport, TX, Sunday & Monday and will try to make
the late afternoon passes of AO-51. Sorry, but AO-27 and SO-50 are too early
in the day and I don't want to take the HT either on the boat or wading :-)

Equipment will be just an FT-51R and Pryme whip antenna.

Attention all,

This coming weekend, the Platinum Coast Amateur Radio Club Society (PCARS)
will hold the 46th Annual Melbourne Hamfest in Melbourne, Florida. For
details, I invite you to visit www.pcars.org.
This, in my opinion, is one of the best hamfests held in the southeast.
AMSAT will be well represented and plans to be present both days of the
hamfest, Saturday Oct.8th and Sunday Oct. 9th. Doors open at 9:00am
Saturday. Tailgate opens at 6:00am.
We look forward to seeing everyone there.
