May I also throw in the IOio antenna? I built mine out of PVC pipe and
copper tubing and had
my first sat QSO on AO-7 with it. Cost was about $15 - $20 as well.

Is there a way I can change the default PATH for my Keps files in
SatPC? I like to keep one Kep file on one computer and load them over
my LAN to the other computers/programs.

I want to start using SatPC again after not being very successful using
HRD Sat Tracker on ARISSat-1. It seems that the program of choice here
on this bulletin board is SatPC. It has been ages since I have used it
so I am trying to get it up-to-date and configured for ARISSat-1. I
have spent hours searching the archives and I think I have all the SQF
files setup. It is controlling the radio (TS-2000) and rotor.

Thanks,

I have noticed that if the soundcard is stopped and then re-started
within ARISSatTLM, that there is no further decode of telemetry. Upon
soundcard re-start the audio level resumes activity and proper level,
the CW search marker (blue) hops around as usual and locks onto the CW
beacon, but the data search marker (red) freezes in a random position
and there is no decode from this point on. Only by re-starting the
whole ARISSatTLM program can decode be re-established.

The program decodes nicely with ARISSat-1 at two degrees or less above
my horizon (with C.P. Yagi at 6 feet), so absolutely no issues there.

Is this a known "feature" of this version, or should I question my machine?

Carl,

Open SATPC32, and then the File menu. Click on Open, which will take you to
your current Kep director. Use the usual method to browse to the one you
want to use. That should change the default.

Someone knowledgeable told me he fixed a path problem this way, but it was
many revision of SATPC32 ago. Let me know if it still works.

Hi Carl,

Try editing SatSources.SQF. That looks like the file that gives the
path/filename of the keps files seen in the program menu.

All,

I would like to find one or two testers for a new version of ArissatTlm for
the Mac. This version should resolve the hangup that happens on some
systems, while playing back WAV files.

Hi Carl,
as Alan wrote already, you can specify another Keps path (separately for
each satellite group) with menu "File", "Open". The new path will be stored
in the aux. file "SatSources.SQF" in the SatPC32 main data folder.

If you want to update your Keps with the "UpdateKeps" function (menu
"Satellites") you should keep the default path, however, because that
function will store the downloaded files always in the default Keps folder
regardless of another specified path.
For more information see the manual, sect. D. 1. a.

ARISSat-1 heard at 2200 UTC on 145.950 FM in SSTV. Signal was weak with only
one quarter demodulated screen showing one of the fixed images. Satellite
was in low power mode north of Gainsville, FL with AZ: 349, EL: +56 from

Well, I guess that answers the question posted earlier... MET apparently
resets when the satellite starts up AFTER the 10-15 minute safety delay, not
when it first sees the Sun and starts its wake-up sequence.

Satellite is high power mode. Strong Signal on VHF downlink.

MET: 1 minute (must just come out of reset ?)
Battery Voltage: 35.7 V
Current: - 4 mA
Temp: 26.5 Deg.

Heard several greeting messages, voice telemetry and 2 very nice sstv
pictures. Attached one, but not sure if that goes thru to the mailing list.

The OSCAR site does not have a way to collect telemetry data, and there is
no other place to post collected verbal telemetry and other observations.
While the satellite is being characterized, I believe the command team
requested we post our observations here.

If there's a better place, please let us know. I've not been posting stuff
here for vanity sake.
