I was testing some grc/gnuradio code, and I'm sure I saw something on
the waterfall bang where I was expecting CW-2 and the BPSK Beacon
(and that was after a ton of my own filtering and re-sampling, so I'm
pretty sure I got the code right on the first attempt for once, and I
heard the bird)

Unfortunately I was so excited, I messed up the screen grab! Oh, well,
on to the ~2300Z pass

Current code cannot decode tlm (was just checking doppler calculations,
and offsets for the beacons were correct etc). Didn't see anything on
the transponder or FM downlinks myself.

http://www.arissattlm.org/mobile indicated that she was in Low Power
mode, but that telemetry had been received.

Dear All,

After seeing so many NOT heard reports, I am pleased to inform that I
heard ARISSat-1 as below:

12 August, 2151 Hours, all time UTC
or
13 August, 0551 Hours, MYT

Maximum elevation: 3 degrees

FM Voice Telemetry:
Battery Voltage 35.66v
Battery Current (unfortunately there seems to be no +ve or -ve
announcement) 34 mA

It seems like ARISSat-1 is in low power mode but I might be wrong, as
I cant differentiate low power and emergency mode.

I have a 57 degrees pass in 1 hrs 20 miutes from now and will try to
listen out for FM and BPSK telemetry.

Dear All,

ARISSat-1 over West Malaysia, 12 Aug at 2325 UTC:

1. Satellite was in high power mode
2. FM downlink was heard very clearly
3. Managed to capture and forward 24 telemetry on the BPSK1000
downlink which was strong

Based on telemetry from CW decoder (unfortunately I had my telemetry
window in ARISSatTLM software accidentally closed):

MET - 9 min
IHU Temp - 31C
Control Panel Temp - 23C
Batt Voltage - 35.90v
Batt Current - -8mA

However, battery was observed charging later on during the pass.

I hope that all will go well for ARISSat-1.

I finally heard and worked AC0RA during a late afternoon pass on Friday
using a home brew moxon turnstile for down link and k5oe for uplink. I
believe I heard other stations calling me but was unable to copy them.
Clearly I'll need to ove the preamp as close to the antenna as possible but
it seems I'm at least moving in the right direction with home brew fixed
antennas. The downlink ais still significantly down inthe noise however.

I sent about 25 frames of telemetry during that pass. Before LOS--as the
bird was approaching eclipse as well--the transmitter went OFF. It came
back up before LOS, but it was too weak to print.

I heard this satellite loud and clear and started to decode the data-
When the satellite went from sunlite to eclipse, after a few
seconds-the data stream ended. It was a low pass and will listen for
the next pass (83 deg.) and see what happens.
No decoding this pass.
Will advise.

All:

Thanks to all that I was able to work from Washington, DC. I have worked
many new grids from many stations that have gone portable and I thought it a
great opportunity to give back and hopefully even perhaps offer FM18 as a
new grid for someone. I worked the 20:27 UTC pass from here with 2 HT and an
Arrow II. It fit the mini vacation schedule well and was an 81 or so degree
pass at peak so since I don't work portable often I figured that would be my
best opportunity to be successful. I hope to be able to offer other grids in
the future on other trips.

Reasonably confident pass was on for full pass on HIGH POWER.

7 Degree pass passing behind an 80 foot gum tree.

Managed 16 frames until beam went through 180 degrees, which is good
considering copy with other sats is not good behind that gum tree. Copied
continuously till the beam started to rotated. LOS was at end of rotation

I copied and forwarded 6 telemetry frames and copied 4 Kursk frames
completing a set, between 13/03:31 and 13/03:33. After the satellite
went into eclipse I did not hear it again for the rest of the pass,
approximately 7 more minutes.
