That is the Ericsson UHF HT and old packet module, operating in
Columbus module for a test of the antenna and cabling.

The modules (at least for the 736R) usually sell for around $300 - $800
depending on band (1.2GHz being the expensive one).
By the time you have factored that into the $200 for the 726 you're at $500.
736Rs go for around $600 and are the better radio
which will have the sat feature included. The only thing left to add then
(in some cases) would be the tone board.

The Yaesu FT-726 was a decent sat rig back in the day.
Cons: Low power output ( only ten watts ) and limited frequency coverage
on UHF ( either 430-440 or 440-450 but not the full range )
I think it lacked the tracking VFOs implemented in the FT-736 which was
a real nice feature.
Also no CAT control with this rig which was what motivated me to trade
up to a pair of Icom twins ( IC-271 and IC-471 ).
For the money though, it would be hard to balk.
73,
Bob W1ICW

I would like to express my appreciation to Amsat UK and The Batv group for
providing the streaming coverage of the Amsat colloquium. The Saturday
sessions were interesting and informative. I look forward to catching the
festivities on Sunday. Thanks again for a job well done.

And AMSAT-UK was responsible for the grab handles that the cosmonauts will
use to deploy ARISSat-1 next week ... No sleep for a few days for those guys!
