If you renewed your membership, unless you are a life member, you get a FREE
satellite freq guide and all the latest info on current sats is on this
convenient laminated list to keep near your satellite equipment for
reference... Go to the AMSAT store and buy one for $5.00 and help future
sats arise...

It's been a while since I've worked FO-29 but never had any trouble
using ft-847 and macdoppler pro software or satpc32. Have you tried
using cw first as sometimes that makes it easier to initially find
your own signal coming back. If you're not using radio control
software though it will be tricky to say the least. I remember those
days :)

I know that all the Kantronics TNCs I've tried have been flaky as hell
on USB-to-serial converters, probably because they don't provide the
full voltage swing that the TNC looks for. I did consider building a
converter with a proper level shifter, but an easier solution was to
give the KAM to someone with a PC with a real serial port and just stick
to using a Tiny-2 when mobile ;-)
In summary, Kantronics KPC-3 == works, kind of; Kantronics KAM == no
input, output OK (never gets past the autobaud screen); various
Tiny-2-alikes == perfectly okay with USB-to-serial or real serial ports.
