Does anyone have a diameter setting for ISS that gives a decent approximation
of visual magnitude (Magn in Instantrack)?
Thanks,

Go to this site for the ZIP file that contains the manual and other
useful info about the G5400.

According to Roscosmos, they have raised the orbit again by 6.8 km. They
are up to about 382 km. This boost will cause old Keps to lag about 130
seconds per day, so be certain an use the CelesTrak/SpaceTrack Keps, or the
predicted Keps.

Hi,
I brought a G5500 with me to Europe and have it up and running. The
elevation rotor is working as it should. The azimuth rotor turns the
antenna left and right as it should when the button is pressed, but the
readout on the controller is not working. When I turned on the controller,
the azimuth meter pinned to the right (i.e., beyond the red 90 degrees
mark). I was able to adjust on the back to get the meter unpinned, but the
indicator does not move at all when the rotor is activated. Any ideas on
what may be wrong?

In the same utilities directory is a program called SORTNENG which will
extract specific satellites from a list of Keps. I use it in combination
with NASAWASH in a batch file to send customized lists to the several
tracking programs I use.

I used to use a program called NASAWASH. You set up a "mysats" file that
specifies which birds you are interested in, and then you can set up a batch
file that will automatically parse whatever input file you specify (like
nasa.all) and output the filtered results to the filename and location that
you specified.
Looks like it's still available in the AMSAT software archive at
http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/software/PC/util/nasawash.zip

Hello everyone,
Is there a program or script that could automate the creation of a custom
keplerian element list that includes satelites that i?m only interested in,
from data from either either spacetrack or celestrack?
My idea is to create something similar to the list that AMSAT publishes but
more specific to my needs, meaning that there are some sats in there that I
don?t care about.
I tried the TLEretriever but no cigar there, at least for the purpose in
sight.

Hi Bill, NZ5N
I hope you have the schematic diagram with you.The Azimuth meter M-1
has a terminal connected to the ground and the other one is connected to
R3 and C-10 on operational amplifier Q3
Disconnect the hot wire of M-1 connected to R3 and put in series between
it and ground a DC milliamperometer (1 mA f.s or less should be OK)
If manually rotating the Azimuth the milliamperometer is moving back and
forth than the electrical circuitry is working correctly and probably the
meter M-1 has received some shock and is stuck against the plastic cover of
the instrument.
To calibrate again the Azimuth meter adjust the 10 k potentiometer VR1 for
full scale indication when the rotator is fully turned by 450?
VR1 i.e. the Azimuth Full Scale potentiometer is the first pot. looking the
Control Box from the back.
Have fun.

Hi Rich, N8UX
Read carefully the paragraph VISIBILITY (MAGNITUDE) into the file
ITmanual.pdf that you can find into the directory of InstantTrack .

I have been working toward getting worked all states over the satellites.
Well i am down to only two states HI and AK. I am working with several
people in AK to get that state on the worked list. Now i need some help with
HI. Is anyone in HI on any of the satellites? I am in Iowa so it will
probably have to be over FO-29 or AO-7. If anyone can Help me with this i
would greatly appreciate it.

Those who worked W2KGY on the 2035z pass of AO-51 on 13 June
probably had a QSL card confirming the contact in their mailbox
a few days later. KJ5HY was the operator and had no trouble hearing
everyone who called for a contact.
I was going to send for this West Point QSL card but held off
remembering that W3ADO at the Naval Academy never seemed to answer
QSL card requests, even with an SASE. My card to West Point was in
the mail back to them the next day. Check out their qrz.com page for
the history behind this station. The callsign dates back to 1937.
Interestingly, W2KGY is a Military Recreation Station while W3ADO is
a club station not unlike your local radio club. Military Recreation
Stations are not eligible for vanity call signs.
According to the FCC Rules and Regulations:
"A military recreation station license is an amateur service station
license granted only to a person who is the license custodian
designated by the official in charge of the United States military
recreational premises where the station is located. The person need
not hold an amateur operator license grant."
Thank you to KJ5HY for activating their satellite station. Your service
to our Country is very much appreciated. It was a honor to confirm our
contact.

Hi All,
We have a WINNER in the "Who is this AMSAT-NA Gentleman ?" contest!
Photo at ...

The answers spanned across five email replies.
1) Mark L Hammond N8MH writes: "It's Dr. Tom :) I don't know the dog..."
2)W4ART Arthur Feller writes:
That's Tom Clark, then W3IWI and W0LND, in the AMSAT office at the time.
The dog came with Martha Saragovitz.
Got me on the date, even though I remember Tom in his thinner days.
Probably around the summer of 1980, more or less.
3) W4DID,Louis McFadin writes: Tom Clark W3IWI. That is probably Martha/s
dog. Date ?
4) Hans PA4PCJ writes: The answer is Chris van der Berg from the
Netherlands.
5)Dee Interdonato, NB2F writes: This is Tom Clark, W3IWI .Dog was owned by
Martha.Picture taken (I Guess) around January 2000
The correct answere is:
The person photografed is Tom Clark K3IO ex W3IWI
The dog is owned by Martha Saragowitz
The date was 29 june 1996 and the picture was taken by W3PK Perry Klein at
Board Meeting
The correct answere for the person and the closest answere for the date
comes from Dee Interdonato, NB2F and so:
DEE ,NB2F has been declared the WINNER of this contest and he will receive a
special QSL card from i8CVS......Congratulations !
Tank you All for partecipating to the above Contest.
