I have just talked to K3IO concerning the plans for his wife's Elizabeth's
memorial. The service will be held in about one month in Clinton, South
Carolina at the family church where her ashes will be scattered. In the
near future, a memorial service will be held in the local Washington area.
I will post details when they become available. Donations can be made in
Elizabeth's name to: The American Cancer Society, Box 22718, Oklahoma City,

I have had lots of questions privately how I got Nova to work again.? So,
for all, here is what I did...
I went to Kep. Elements menu and on the Space-Track.org I unchecked all the
boxes so that nothing is currently updating from Space-Track (until they fix
Nova for SSL).
I then clicked on HTTP and changed the remove URL to www.amsat.org
Then I removed everything in Remote Files and added the following AMSAT path:
amsat/ftp/keps/current/nasa.all
Then I said OK and clicked back on Kep. Elements, Internet Update, Start
Download and it grabbed the nasa.all keps from AMSAT and loaded them
perfectly.
Hope this helps!

Hello Mike,
Measure DC resistance from the input coaxial center conductor to the
output coaxial center conductor.
If it is low resistance then it will pass DC to the preamp.
If it is high DC resistance then somewhere inside is capacitive coupling
and DC will NOT pass top the preamp.
Also measure DC resistance of the coaxial center conductors to ground.
It should be high DC resistance.
If this DC resistance is low, it will not pass DC power to the preamplifier.
I do not have a schematic of the referenced SWR meter to verify/review.
I suspect it will pass DC.

Hello,
After a gap of 13 years the AMSAT-BDA (Bermuda) web site is back up.
The main function of the site is hosting the General Astrodynamics Library.
It will however provide the host for new stuff, old and new!

Hi Paul, VP9MU
I remember with nostalgia when I sent to you everyday a zipped file of
the AO40 telemetry to be added in the AO40 TLM archive.
I hope in the future to do the same job for the telemetry of P3E !
Congrats to the AMSAT-BDA web site back up again.

Does anyone know how to fix HRD keps, Amsat and Heavens are right on and all
the other sats are good. I know they had to boost the ISS and I did see that
post but is there any way to get HRD going right? The automatic dealy bob is

Usually but remember that many SWR meters introduce more loss than they
are trying to measure so you might be better off removing it.

Are you saying that there is a problem with HRD or that your keps that
HRD is using are not up to date?
If the latter, download your keps directly from Space Track.

Hi Mike, KB8ZGL
Any SWR meter has a directional coupler inside that pass DC so you can can
feed DC power throught it safely like into a coax cable.

Probly will get fixed soon, just makin sure HRD users were on the same page...

Because the amsat site is an unusable pile of crap, with various bits
and pieces that don't entirely talk to each other.
The keps download and the pass predictions should pull their information
from the same source. This would be incredibly easy to script.
However, it appears that the downloadable keps are only updated when
someone can be bothered to get off their hindmost and upload a text file
containing them.
Several people (including) have offered to fix or rewrite the amsat.org
site, even for free. Instead they're all too busy with their HEO
cargo-cult.
