Hello Burns,
All the four stages of PSLV are indigenous one's. Only GSLV depended
upon Russian fourth stage cryogenic engines. So far, 18 PSLV's were
launched and 17 were successful. Yesterday's PSLV-C16 was 17th
consecutive successful launch.

Hello Trevor,
None of the two piggy backs i.e. Youthsat or Xsat have any amateur
radio frequencies. One of the two Indian payload on-board Youthsat is
called RaBIT-Radio Beacon for Ionosphere Tomography for mapping the
Total Electron Content (TEC) of the Ionosphere to generate tomograph
of the region.
The frequencies are 150 Mhz and 400Mhz.

Would anyone be interested in a California Amplifier 2.4Ghz downconverter
with the bias t and patch antenna? I put this together for AO-51 downlink
but I've never gotten to use it. It's just setting here and I haven't been
on the birds in quite a while so I thought I'd see if someone else could use
it. E-mail me off list and we can discuss and perhaps make a deal. Comes
with all connectors and terminates into a male BNC for easy connection to a
HT.

Hi Jan,

Many thanks for the valuable advice..yes I think the bend radius will be the
most important parameter for us.

cheers

  Graham,
My vote would be RG-188A/U. See my AMSAT-IARU Link Model Rev 2.4.3; Line
Loss Tools and Tables Tab; First entry. Use the calculator there to get
losses at various frequencies. It's PTFE wrapped and there are SMA and SMC
connectors made for it. Or you can solder it directly to the transmitter
output, if you are careful. It's pretty flexible and can have about the
shortest bend radius of any coax available. In the end, however, that might
be your biggest problem in a Cubesat - making the short bends.

    hi All,

    A simple question this time!

What is the best coax cable to use in a cubesat? Size, flexibility/min
radius, existing space heritage, ease of applying connectors are our main
design drivers - we are only using UHF and VHF so losses are not going to be
too much of a problem hopefully..

    many thanks in advance

I want to take a
minute to say thanks to people who have helped me to discover the fantastic
satellite
world and who have had contact with me. I have spent a fantastic time on
Satellites.???? ?I really have enjoyed it.

Yesterday, I
took from ND9M my grid locator number 100 and my 250 satellite contact.

They shouldn't be allowed to sell them for use on the amateur bands.
Aren't secret codes illegal?

I know DStar appeals to the emcomm morons who like to play at being
police dispatchers, but it's not really amateur radio. It's just a ploy
to get people to buy the latest New Shiny.
