Thanks for the info, the change to https: explains everything. I have just
discovered that I can manually download a compressed file from Space-Track,
extract the text file, and manually update Nova from the text file. Looks
like Celestrack could make that process a lot easier, so I will explore that
next.
Nova hasn't been upgraded since 2008 ( and it had so many little bugs to fix
!! ) so I'm not going to sit around waiting to see if they put out a new
version.
Thanks again,
Richard K7MDH

AO51 still appeared to be down during the 1922z pass. I only monitored half
of the pass, but I never heard a carrier.

Hello All,
We are receiving reports that AO-51 appears to be down. Hopefully one
of us can get it going again this afternoon/evening.
Eclipses are still getting longer, and the sun angle is getting worse,
too. It probably has experienced a low battery trip (least we hope
it's that simple...)
Please watch and post on http://oscar.dcarr.org/

Hopefully, this is the last of the equipment.
I found an old FODTrack board. It is built, but it is not in an
enclosure. Last time I used it with InstanTrack, it worked fine. I
still have the Icom AG-25 2m preamp and an unmodded CalAmp 31732.
FODTrack: $75 OBO
AG-25: $90 OBO
CalAmp 31732: $30 OBO (Mod details are here:
http://www.qsl.net/n9zia/wc0y/index.html)
Posting on QTH.com also.

Well found Matt

That's a serious loss of spectrum.

Unfortunately, there is no known cure for the bug that just bit you. You
will have to put up with the side effects for the rest of your life. ;-)

Steve,
People like you are the reason that Drew KO4MA and I dropped what we were
doing/ran home from work early today to turn AO-51 back on.
Happy to hear about your first QSO! Congrats.
Hope to catch you in the log.

Hello,
ISS Status report for 4/13/2011 says:
"...Dmitri performed hardware deactivation & close-out activities on the
TEKh-43 Radioskaf-B "Kedr" test microsatellite in the MRM2 Poisk module
which had been connected to an 825M3 Orlan battery..."
So, we are done for now. More to come in July. Stay tuned.

Uh, dude, you've caught it ... and it is quite contagious ... with few known
cures:
Satellite-itis.
I've tred everything to cure myself of this. Modern meds - legal and, er,
otherwise. Pina Coladas. Using VistaPrint to make AMSAT banners and
informational post cards. Staying up for 48 hours preparing for a party and
trying to work ARISSat-1 ... NOTHING has cured me of this malady.
Every once in a while, my wife will hear me exclaim from the back yard, "I
just talked to Vancouver!" I am sure she thinks I am nuts, and wonders why I
just don't use the cell phone ...
>> ... recording the passes ...
What is your setup? A direct connection to your audio, or a smartphone voice
recorder app, or ??? ?
so I have an audio recording of my first AO-51 QSO.
>> ... A big thanks to K6LCS (Clint) and his web site ... for all the tips
and inspiration to give satellites a try.
I am to old to get this affected ... thanks!

this is why we did not hear it....they had the 430mhz transmitter turned
on... was anyone listening to the 70cm frequency? all the preparations
on 2m and we were in the wrong place.
Afterwards, Dmitri performed hardware deactivation & close-out
activities on the TEKh-43 Radioskaf-B ?Kedr? test microsatellite in the
MRM2 Poisk module which had been connected to an 825M3 Orlan battery and
operated its 430 MHz transmitter yesterday.

It's working for me. However, the About box shows "Version 2.0.0.8 [2011 Apr
13]".
Hey, that's TODAY ! Must be a VERY new version.

I did notice that the $99,999 remote software - yes, $99,999 - for the
IC-9100 is now marked "TBD" in the price section.... I hope someone
fat-fingered that one.

Has anyone on the list used the Icom 9100 yet? If so, what are you
impressions of it?
