Reading the article, the root cause appears to be one of those
procedural issues in handling cryogenic propellant. I'm sure they'll
iron out the bugs in time. :)

Hi!

I took a quick drive up from Phoenix to this spot off the I-17 freeway
north of Phoenix, and will work the next AO51 pass from here @ 2351 UTC,
FO29 @ 0006 UTC, and possibly the later FO29 pass @ 0144 UTC if it isn't
too dark by then. See the location at http://aprs.fi/wd9ewk-7
(great for satellite work, and a few APRS digis nearby).

As always, please e-mail me if you would like a QSL from here. Please note
I was on earlier from DM33xp/DM43ap (HO68 @ 1619 UTC, AO27 @ 1947 UTC),
and drove here after that AO27 pass to be on at DM34xm/DM44am starting with
SO50 @ 2108 UTC.

73!

I am closing in on satellite WAS and need
Delaware, Maryland and West Virginia.
I work the FM birds.
Looking to schedule these three for a QSO.
Thanks for your consideration.

Loren,
I have been working the birds for 2 years and know how hard it can be to get
certain states ( I still need New Mexico for the 48 states). You just caught
me
between radios (I shipped my Yaesu FT-726R last Friday and expect my new radio
Kenwood TS-790 no earlier than next weekend). I will certainly help you get
Maryland when I get it hooked up. If I'm too late to be the first, I would
love
another Oregon contact. I can also do a portable using a W32A and log-periodic
antenna to Delaware (less than an hour away) if we set up a schedule.

  Hello

For the first time in years, my employer is sending me somewhere nice on
travel. I'll be on Kuaui Mon-Fri next week and in my free time there I
hope to catch as many passes as I can. I'll be in BL01, only working FM
using my FT-60R HT with either AL-800 or my Arrow if I can make it fit
in my luggage.

Still very new to this so if no one cares, I apologize-- but I'll still
be trying :)

This was an important week for ARISSat program.

The ARISSat-1/RadioSkaf V satellite passed the vibration tests this week.
Documents needed for the Phase 2 Safety Reveiw were sent to the committee
for the NASA Safety Review scheduled for Oct 12 & 13, 2010.
We are planning on crating the two satellites (flight and backup) next week
and shipping them to NASA Houston for shipment to Russia.

Thank you to all the team members that have worked so diligently over the
life of the project and especially the last
few weeks to get the satellites flight ready and prepared to ship.

It looks like AO-51's computer crashed somewhere between 0700 and 0800 UTC
last night. I managed to start the reload process on a 7 degree pass here
this morning, and the 435.150 transmitter should be on at close to 1 watt
with 9k6 telemetry. I'd appreciate any telemetry reports between now and
this afternoon's passes, especially battery voltage and temperature. This
reload may take a little longer than the last few due to command station
availability.
