Hi All,

The mode change has occurred. The L/U voice repeater is now active and
working fine. Enjoyed L/U QSOs with KC9ELU, N5UXT, and WA3SWJ.
Note--remember to experiment with your L-band uplink frequency! Many users
(including myself) find that tuning your uplink higher (in the
1268.703-1276.708 MHz range) works best.

Currently 435.300 is running at 480 mW and 435.150 is running at 390 mW.
If you can switch U-band antenna polarity, please remember that 435.300 is
RHCP (right hand circular polarization) and 435.150 is LHCP (left hand).

September 19 (late UTC)

FM Repeater, V/U
Uplink: 145.920 MHz FM (no PL tone)
Downlink: 435.300 MHz FM

FM Repeater, L/U
Uplink: 1268.700 MHz FM (no PL tone)
Downlink: 435.150 MHz FM

Mark L. Hammond [N8MH]

Mine is V12.8a. Try downloading that version. If still having problem,
come back here.

Cori and I re-routed ourselves because of questionable road conditions and
are camping at the Little Big Horn in DN65. This was to be our fourth stop
off after Cheyenne (DN71), Grand Teton (DN43) and Yellowstone (DN44);
instead it's the second.

We'll be here through Monday and resume our trek back into Wyoming on Tuesday.

I'll be on whatever passes I can sneak away to get to tomorrow. I've got a
hill to my east that blocks passes lower than about 15 degrees elevation,
but all other directions are clear for miles around.

I've been checking 6M after each pass that I'm on, but not surprisingly, I
haven't heard any sigs at all so far. I'm using 50.125 for CQs and tuning
the band.

Hi Nader and Alan,
you are succefull without the competition of the lot of European
FM-voice-stations.
In Hamburg, northern Germany, it is very hard to ul only one msg.
I have dl most of your messages in one pass, but on the next pass
I get a "No-2 file doesn?t exist" answer.

My session on working the satellites last Saturday at the ARRL Southwestern
Division Convention in San Diego was attended by FIFTY-SIX folks! Standing
room only - five were standing in the back of the room. We had a great time.
I had to shorten my presentation a bit - because we only had 50 minutes. But
I heard from attendees that it all went well.

Additionally, we worked two satellite passes Saturday afternoon out on the
patio. Twenty-two attended the 3:46PM pass of SO-51 ... eighteen attended
the 4:31PM pass of AO-51. I was pleased that many of these folks were NOT
in the morning session (I printed up signs with the times an posted 'em on
the convention's cork bulletin board and had one on an easel outside the
meeting rooms). So ... impromptu "Q & A" sessions were held out on the
patio, and we all had a great time a we contacted Montana, Arkansas,
Tijuana, San Diego, Colorado, Yellowstone National Park and more stations
via the "birds."

We need someone to demo/work the birds with the Boy Scouts/JOTA in
Victorville, CA on either (or both!) Sat and Sunday, October 16-17 in
Victorville, CA. I cannot do it - I'll be demo'ing/presenting in Sam Ramon
at PACIFICON.

Looks like SO-50 is passing 9:13AM PDT Saturday, or 10:17AM Sunday.

And AO-51 at 4:16PM and 5:55PM Sat.

Anyone available for some high-energy FUN with the Scouts?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a recording of the 22:59 UCT AO-51 pass
available from yesterday? I heard someone from EM40, but did not write down
his
call. I was testing out the CJU downlink antenna by EA4CYQ. It was a 22
degree
pass for me and was surprised by the antenna's performance. Thanks in
advance!
