Copy me on your reply. I have a FT-530 and interested in how to use it to
work the sats. Thanks, Jim, Ke4kol

Anyone using a Yaesu FT-530 in full-duplex mode to work the FM satellites?

If so, would you please contact ...

Robb Queen KE6FUZ <RQueen@xxxxxxx.xxx>

... and assist him. Here's what he last wrote me:

"I was able to silence the speaker audio from your last email but when I
transmit it doesn't silence the squelch. I don't feel like I am transmitting
out. I have the correct freq. for the uplink and downlink ... "

I have a '530 here somewhere - but do not know it well enough to help.

THANK YOU!

Clint, K6LCS

Try right clicking on the SatPC Install EXE and then select run as
administrator. If that does not work, keep asking here. The Win7
questions have been asked and answered many times, so checking the
archives may also help. I now run Win7 but had many issues to solve.
Good luck.

I will vouch for what Larry said, I just got a new laptop running
Win7 Home Premium today and successfully installed SatPC32 version 12.8a
by right clicking the setup.exe and running as administrator.

Cori and I will be on the DN74 / DN75 grid line for the AO27 pass that
switches to VOX at about 18/1947Z. This is another line that doesn't quite
fall exactly on the state line. In this case, the grid line at 45N appears
to be about 50 feet inside the Wyoming line so contacts will count only for
that state. (WC7V has Montana pretty well represented anyway.)

The HO68 sked starting tomorrow hasn't been published yet, so I'll try to be
on from DN74 on VO52 during its 18/1619Z pass as we head for the line.

We'll head for DN64 and DN63 after the AO27 pass following the 1947Z pass.

73 for now,

Jim, ND9M / VQ9JC

The AO-7 Mode A pass on 9/18/10 at approximately 1430 UTC (POS with 14 degs
elevation) at my location, FM-19, was truly impressive. The CW downlink was
rock solid for the entire pass into my little 2 element 10 meter yagi with
my uplink power of 10-15 watts into a 3 X 3 element RHCP yagi. The CW
downlink tone was most impressive with no warbling at all! No one answered
my CQs but what a delight to hear such an impressive downlink from the grand
old lady. AO-7 is truly a remarkable resource!

Enjoy her!

I finally got an opportunity to try and work HO-68 again on the weekend.
Very tough during the week due to work schedule. I had a 65 deg at peak pass
over FN20un but was unable to hear the satellite at all during the entire
pass. Often I have a high 70cm noise level here so I figured it was operator
tracking error (Arrow on a tripod) and the high noise level. I went to
http://oscar.dcarr.org to see if anyone had heard the pass and unfortunately
there were no reports either way. What I did find was a bit confusing unless
the past work week took a real toll on me...LOL!...

There were 4 reports out of Europe earlier in the day of the satellite being
heard. When I had checked the schedule on http://www.camsat.cn I thought I
understood the satellite to be off between 1:51 and 14:20 UTC. The pass I
was trying to catch was at 14:39 UTC but the reported heard times were in
the OFF period for HO-68. Am I reading this all wrong? I was hoping to
perhaps catch a European station or two on that pass and also work others
here in the US.

Thanks in advance and maybe it?s just a tough morning for me!

73,

Pat

Hi Pat

Indeed, I would have assumed that 01:51 UTC to 14:20 HO-68 would have been
off.
Note that the beacon is always audible (as far as I know)

Based on this schedule I would have assumed 14:20-15:05utc the FM repeater
to have been on

Woaaah !!!!
While typing this email: I just see there is a typo on the camsat website !
18 Sept is entered twice :-) :-)
Try the same time tomorrow !

Hi Pat,
As pointed out by Henk there are two entries for September 18th.

The last one is probably for September 19th.

The first is for the "real" 18th.

Yes. Sorry for today. I was confused when I checked the website versus
