And I will add, if you just happen to find this year's AMSAT Board of
Directors election ballot, this is almost the last chance to get them in the
mail to be received by CoB Wednesday next week!

All:

Beginning this Thursday (9th) through the 18th, me and my family will be
going to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for our annual vacation. The
primary focus of this trip will be to enjoy the scenery of the Rocky
Mountain Park with a secondary focus on satellite operating. Satellites that
will be operated include AO27, AO51, SO50 and HO68 if it is in FM that week.
We will likely be in DN60/70, DM78/79, and possibly DM68/69 in Colorado (I
know these grids are not unheard of, but hopefully they will be new-er to
some of you guys), along with other possible grids on the trip out and back
through IN, IL, MO and KS if I can get a mobile setup going (which is highly
unlikely). I also plan to do at least 1-2 passes from atop Pike's Peak
(DM78) during one of the first few days of the trip. It is hard to say at
this point how frequently I will be on.... I would like to be on at least
one pass per day that will have a good coverage of the US, but it will all
depend on if I can get to s!
uitable place to operate, weather, if I am not surrounded by 10,000 ft.
peaks, etc. Worst case is I am on 1 pass during the trip, best case is I am
on a lot more - we will have to wait and see. This will be my first
"somewhat major" portable satellite operating, so please bare with me. =)
Please watch my QRZ page for photos after the trip.

QSL Information for Colorado Trip:
If you would like a QSL, please wait until the trip is over and send one
card with the contact(s) listed along with a SASE. Also, please put on the
QSL the grid(s) that you worked me in. I will respond to all requests as
soon as I have the cards ready. Watch my QRZ page for additional details.

Hi All,

I will be making my annual trip to Mt Nebo, AR this weekend. The group will
be working the VHF contest,
and I will be working the birds (not part of the contest) using the club
call, NE5BO.

So if you need EM35, I will be on the air Thursday afternoon, Sept 9 thru
Monday morning, Sept. 13th.
I also plan a road trip during the weekend to the EM24/EM34 grid line.
Maybe EM25 also.

CU on the birds,

Did anyone by chance get a recording for the 2015utc pass of the ISS over NA?
My voice recorder battery would pick that time for its battery to die. I had
four HS students and myself contact NA1SS during a club meeting after
school. I would love to have a recording if anyone got one.
Thanks, 73CharlieKI4RDT

Hi,
My FT-736 suddenly lost all audio (apart from the scanning beep). Looks
like the Q06 opamp in the AF Unit failed and shorted out the 1?,1/4W
resistor (fuse), 13.8V at the supply side, 2.4V at pin 5. Could also be
that the 2200?F cap. is shot. I can hear low level noise and signals
using an old AF amp. connected to the J02 AF in plug so the rest of the
rig incl. the TX appears fine. Any hints how to cure this sick baby
will be appreciated. Searched for a NEC ?PC2002H replacement but no
joy. Found a possible solution at:
http://diyaudioprojects.com/Chip/DIY-TDA2050-Hi-Fi-Chip-Amplifier
where the data sheet includes a Single Supply Typical Application
Circuit, Fig. 3 in the pdf file @x
http://diyaudioprojects.com/Chip/DIY-TDA2050-Hi-Fi-Chip-Amplifier/TDA2050-Data
sheet.pdf.
Any feedback is welcome, guess Yaesu does not carry any spare boards or
spare parts for this old rig.
Thanks and 73 de AB4AB
Ben

Thanks for tips Ib!

I am beginner, but I always was scratching my head why people waste so
precious own/other pass time sending/asking locator ? Sats are just a
repeaters! Inevitably we all use computers, internet - we can easy
lookup for QRA/QTH/Name/etc easily.
