This morning, 13 August 2010, on the 1254 UTC pass of AO-51 over the
western US, I made several contacts before I realized that I had not
turned on my voice recorder. If you contacted me at the beginning of
the pass and this is a new contact or a new grid and you would like a
QSL card, please send me an email directly and I will update my log and
send out the card.

Thanks,
John Kopala

I will be reinstalling everything.

cross VHF and UHF as well as the dish.
(basic AO-40 setup)

I did have at the other QTH everything on a 10 foot by 1 1/2 steel
pipe at about 23 feet.

my question is can I go with less then a 10 foot?
Just how close can I put one to the other.

I sure did love that bird. As well as sure do miss it.

We need someone to dome working the birds in Victorville, CA on either (or
both!) Sat and Sunday, October 16-17 in Victorville, CA. I cannot do it -
I'll be demo'ing/presenting in Sam Ramon at PACIFICON.

Anyone available for some high-energy FUN with the Scouts?

All,

It's hot here in Phoenix , so tomorrow I'm planning on heading up north near
Dewey to get out of the heat and get some telescoping time in as well. I'll
be Observing from grid DM34wm.

I'll be working the following passes:

AO-51	14-Aug-10	23:25:50UT
SO-50	15-Aug-10	0:01:41UT
AO-51	15-Aug-10	1:05:43UT

If I can get out early enough I'll try to Work the AO-27 pass at 2119UT and
the SO-50 pass at 2020UT from the Grid Boundary of DM34 & DM44.

Though close to Phoenix, I'll told that these two rids are not worked very
much, so if you need them give me a call.

The weather looks good, so unless the forecast are way off base, I'll be up
there.

Whoops.... a slip of the finger. John did not move to the 5th call
area, in fact he didn't even change his call sign. It is still W6ZKH.

Sorry...

Hi European Satellit users.

SO-67 is planned to be active as follows:

14 August 2010 UTC

Europe (UTC) Turn on times:

08:12

09:46

17:26

I saw the first pas too late :-)

You can find the information on:

http://www.amsatsa.org.za/

Then you do not have to rely on me !

Observations over the last couple of days:

It turns on by itself - not necessarily at the exact time given.

It sounds best if you do not use the CTCSS tone.

Have a nice weekend.

Just another nag that the AMSAT election for members of the Board of
Directors is in progress. The end of the summer, and the start of school is
upon us. Still, if you haven't gotten around to it, take a few minutes to
vote. The deadline will be here in a month. Obviously it is important as a
member to vote, but it is also important for Board members to receive your
input in this way.

73s,

Alan Biddle

AMSAT Corporate Secretary
