I'll be travelling tomorrow to Fort McPherson, NT and will be active on
the following passes as VE8EV/P from CP27 :

Time-On Time-Off Satellite Coverage Area

1740z 1757z HO-68 Europe, North America
2017z 2020z AO-27 North America
2039z 2045z AO-51 NE USA, Canada
2125z 2134z HO-68 NW USA, Alaska, Hawaii
2216z 2222z AO-51 North America

Depending on how quickly I can get all my work done there is a chance I
might run that last AO-51 pass from CP37 on the way home.

This will be the first of a dozen grids up here that I will try to
activate as I travel to different locations on business. Thanks to John,
K8YSE, for the Arrow and the encouragement to get set up for portable sat
ops.

Outstanding John! In ten active years on the birds, I've never heard a
CP grid. I'll be looking for you from Florida mainly on HO-68 due to the
distances involved.

Thanks, and 73, Drew KO4MA EL88

When AO-7 is out over the N. Pacific it is covering a lot of realestate.
Namely UA0, UA9, BY, JT. Our JA friends can not use 432, they're scarce on
mode A. Only UA0ZS once. A sprinkling of KL7's. A sliver of N. Europe,
thankyou Mika.
just commiserating

Clint,

Nice to hear you on AO51 this afternoon from the fair. Hopefully the
crowd was impressed with hearing so many different places on that
pass. I was working from a park not far from my office here in the
Phoenix area. How big was the crowd for the demo?

73!

Anyone know the best distance for mode A on AO-7?? Is there a "gate keeper"
for such information?? I am trying to work JA from Seattle, right now it's
all email and planning.

To Mark and the rest of the AO-51 command team - THANK YOU for getting '51
on and back to V/U mode for the 5:24PM PDT Thursday / 0024 GMT Friday pass -
Gordon West and I had a blast demo'ing it at the Orange County Fairgrounds!

We had three media photogs ... one magazine represented. Gordo is writing up
the demo for an upcoming magazine article.

As most other Alinco DJ-G7T handheld owners have stated, when keying up on
2M, there is, indeed, still a significant loss of sensitivity on the
sub-band (in our case, the 440 band) - even with Alinco's latest firmware.
