Reid,

I emailed the ARRL and was told not to expect HO-68 support anytime soon, as
they are "too busy working on the new web page" to update the software.

Reid,

Although LoTW support is not in my baliwick, it is inconceivable that it and
other recently launched satellites will not eventually be supported.
Hoewever, one hundred percent of ARRL IT department resources are committed
to the launch of the renovated web site at this time.

It will come, but it is a matter of prioritization.

Hi All,

Is RS-15 sending telemetry? I see that the pattern is different, nearly
constantly on on this pass as I type. I just can't hear well enough

The Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg AFB has reported that
AO-51 will have a ~200 meter (i.e. 2 football fields) approach to object
#34890 at 08:51Z on April 13th.

Object #34890 (see http://www.n2yo.com/satellite/?s=34890 and
http://celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/iridium-33-debris.txt) is one piece
of the more than 500 pieces of debris left over after the Iridium-33 --
Kosmos-2251 collision on Feb. 10,2009 (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_satellite_collision). The total mass
of the two spacecraft was about 1600 kg (well over one ton).

You can get an HD movie animation of the Iridium/Kosmos collision here
(warning -- 50 MB ZIP file).

It seems to me that everyone in LEO is getting warnings now.
Unfortunately that crash caused a lot of debris.
Delfi-C3 made it through ok, as well as the other cubes on our launch.
so good luck to AO-51!

Hello all,

Recently I?ve bought an Icom 910H and I would like to use with a TNC in
satellite mode and in normal mode, using the main band, but as you will know
this transceiver has two mini din connectors, one used for the main band and
the other is used for the suband, I would not like to lose the main band,
that it is used, for instance, when you work the ISS in simplex, but If I
make a simple interface taking the tx from the main band and the rx from the
suband I will lose working with the main band in simplex.

Any idea to recommend me to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance,

A general question is there is some sort of validation done when a satellite
is put on an orbit? Could be due to the low orbit there is no
collision avoidance calculus made? The doomed day already happen but is it
possible another collision trigger a billard effect in space as
per the following

Hi Auke,

no there is no CW beacon or any telemetry. RS-15 is sending only a carrier.
But the length varies between a second and sometimes over some minutes.
Maybe there is an relationship between the length of the carrier and
temperature but I don't know.

Hi Fran & all
?
In none satellite mode use:
Main mini din for? tx audio and ptt (same for 1k2 and 9k6 )
and the sub mini din for rx (this can be configer for 1k2 or 9k6 baud)
(ground from both to sheld the signal)
?
If u want to use main band only (eg in ISS ie1k2 ) disconnect the sub and
supply the audio to PC from headphone jake.
?
Also?you can use ACC??where you can?reprogram the pins? from the menu.
?
More easy?! built a distributing box with all terminal to play with.
