I have tried to send this direct, but told it might get blocked.

Hopefully Mr. Kung monitors the AMSAT BB.

Mr. Kung,

It is heartbreaking to watch the HO-68 schedule, and see the satellite
virtually cutting off
seconds before the footprint reaches KH6 land. We are not asking to amend an
existing and
published schedule, but would be grateful for future considerations.

Respectfully submitted
Peter Scheller, NH6VB

Normal TNC protocol is commonly called AX.25.
The most common speed for satellite AX.25 is 1200 baud.
Occasionally 9600 baud.

A quick look at the Amsat page list 6 satellites currently running ax.25
Castor, Stars, KKS-1, Oscar-66, Oscar-65, and ISS.
There may be more, that was just a quick look.

I have had great luck with Kantronics, KPC-3 and KPC-9612. I even installed
a KPC-9612 on board the Russian space station Mir.
http://www.marexmg.org/marexmirweb/fileshtml/pmsupgrade.html

The KPC-9612 was also used in PC-Sat1 http://www.aprs.org/pcsat.html

ISS does have packet, unfortunately the software loaded in December 2003
enabled the criss-cross radio mode on the TM-D700. This mode caused a
significant performance hit and has rendered Packet Mail virtually useless.
And causes the Digi-repeater mode to have a 1-2 second delay and other issues.

Hi Fellows;.....First, I want to thank all who replied to my query.
I got lots of suggestions regarding a Free Terminal program.

For Andy W5ACM: Thanks for sending me the two Hyper Term files,
I had previously tried that method with out success. Think Win7 64 would
just not play nice with it.

However, Kevin W5ACM sent me a link to TERMINAL. Thanks Kevin.
http://sites.google.com/site/braypp/terminal
It booted and talked to my LVB Tracker "out of the box", even the default
comm stuff was set correctly. ie; I was able to calibrate the LVB with the
rotator in no time. Not sure if I could program the EPROM if I would of
had to.

When I get time I plan to look at the program called PUTTY as some of
you suggested. From the looks of it, it is more of a full featured program.

Again, thanks to all
Charlie K3VDB

Yes Nader, confirm that. On our 19:05 UTC pass the FM transponder should be
active but nothing heard :-(
