Alan - Are you experiencing any improved performance on the sub-band
when working the birds?

Just a warning on the G7, my battery went open circuit after an extended
time spent in the car in late summer. The case is welded, so I don't
think I can get into it to replace the fuse without destroying it.

Hi all,
Wednesday it was not on (I think).

The two other days it worked very well.

The general picture is that at the start to
the North is easy to work :-)
Once it gets further South it gets more crowded -
but that is only to be expected. More people can reach
it.

Some operators have still not found out to use less deviation.
May be they do not read the -bb ?
Perhaps those of you who read this could tell those that do not.
Or get the information in your national magazine.

Clint,

Actually, I gave up on it as a satellite rig. Right now, it is being used,
with great success, as the RF for a fill-in APRS digi. If someone reports
better satellite results, I will give it a try when the WX warms.

Hi all,
KD5QGR, David, has included SO-67 on the report page:

http://oscar.dcarr.org/index.php

It would be nice to have reports on SO-67 and the other
satellites from all over the World.
Many do it already - but there are areas with few reports.

The more we are the better the information :-)

Today's RSGB news bulletin reports that Sir Martin Sweeting, G3YJO, has
been awarded the Faraday Medal by the IET, Britain's equivalent of IEEE.
Martin is, of course, chairman of AMSAT-UK. Congratulations to him on this
well-deserved recognition.

Darn. Still leaves us without a viable TRUE duplex HT in the
marketplace.

Man, if I win the lottery, I'll have the IC-W32a re-issued ... with
complete voice prompts for the vision-impaired, 1.0 and/or 2.5khz
tuning steps, 2.5W with 4.8VDC, 1,000 memories, some sort of USB
charging capability, commercial spring belt clip, AMSAT membership
form ...

That little radio has a great "feel" in your hand. It is missed ....

Memories need to be capable of storing cross-band splits (TX on one
band, RX on another), which I don't think ICOM usually supports.

Think I'll hold on to my FT-470.
I never knew it would become so valuable one day. :-)
