Havent found the answer looking on search, so thought I would put the
question here. Has anyone controlled the Kenwood Twins (TS-711a & TS-811a)
using the SatPC32 program? I am not that well versed in the subject, so that
is why I am asking.

This evening I have completed a contact from IM78BW with Mr. Piraja PS8RF at
GI84OW Brazil, thorugh AO-07 mode B in the 60446 Orbit at 19.55 GMT.
Althoug I have farest contacts with this satellite in this mode this is the
first with South America. The Satellite sounded clear without any noisy and
distorsion over the Atlantic Ocean. It likes to be a healthy sat.
Thanks to the AO07 !!!

John,
Maybe reading attached file: B. SETUP / 1 Installation / 3d TX Controller
will help. Good luck with your installation!

I am using and LVB tracker to control my GS5400B AZ/EL system.
I mainly use it on EME and WSJT controlling it with NOVA. There has
always been excessive noise
shown on the waterfall when I am on certain 144mhz frequencies. I can cut
power to the 5400 and it goes away so I am pretty sure it is either
the box itself or the USB connection. I have put toroids on the cable ends.
I have also tried different computers and it is the same. Any ideas on
what I could do
to remedy this. I can cut power to the rotor and all is fine. But the I
have
to restart NOVA each time. I could live with it if I could just switch
the Rotor control off and on without restarted NOVA etc..
Thanks
Joe

Since there has been a fair amount of requests for Yaesu G5400 rotator
information concerning various problems that have been encountered, I
have included a link to my FTP site that contains the ZIP file that has
various manuals, documents, pictures, etc related to this rotator.
It includes pictures of my elevation unit motor, both old and new user
guides with IPB. The correct IPB is important as my unit came with an
older user guide/IPB and caused me great grief when trying to older
parts from Yaesu which most of the time were the wrong ones due to
incorrect unit drawing and index numbers.
The file is rather large about 34mb, but I hope it is helpful to others
as this is compilation of info gathered here from others experiences
along with mine.

Hi,
Just noticed that updated firmware and cloning software, all versions, and a
new though poor quality manual PDF are available at:
http://www.alinco.com/usa.html
1: RIT/TXIT functions / added.
2: Reverse function in repeater operation / bettered.
3: Beep sounds at turn-off the power / added.
4: CTCSS tone of Auto-repeater & memory / bettered (give priority to the
tone in memory, not in VFO while auto-repeater is ON)
5: Welcome-screen setting / bettered.
6: New scan mode added = turns on the LCD light when scan stops. Very
convenient operating G7 in the dark.
7: Firmware update operation: accepts the command only when the battery-icon
shows "full".
8: Minor bugs fixed.
No indication of anything to fix the basic RX deficiencies in full duplex,
but the RIT/TXIT looks interesting.

Hi,
I had such a problem recently on my SDR part, the one that drives the
waterfall. Problem is divided into two distortions, some are narrowband
spurs, others a wideband noise that adds to the reception.
In order to find the causes I finally ran those components necessary from
a battery (23cm transverter, FT847 and PC) and removed power for the house
at all.
Then I found:
-> Ground loops: Transceiver and PC must be connected to the same mains
connector!
-> IQ mixer is now running from a 8V LiIon battery (R2Hobbies)
-> I removed the external oscillator that works as an LO for the IQ mixer
and use a simple 1.8432 computer oscillator there.
I also found that the 3-phase-inverters that I am using for the dish drive
have internal CPUs which unfortunately generate a strong spur on 144.016
and 144.020. I tried to pull them downwards but they are that awfully
accessible located in the inverters so I had to give up.
-> I put 5-turn-ferrit cores on each line that goes into the inverters
It really solved all problems despite the spurs of the inverter CPUs which
now are little bit weaker but maybe I have to mount these two units into a
screened box.
