Hi!
W6FOG was on an AO-27 pass yesterday afternoon, working from his
home grid of CM87 (San Francisco Bay area). He said he took the
train back home for the holiday, and will return to his yacht in
a couple of days.

Hi Jerry, W0SAT
For the characteristics of satellite XW-1 look here
http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/satellites/satInfo.php?satID=116
By the way I don't think the satellite has been already launched because
it was scheduled for december 2009

Yep. Listening to the 18:22z pass now; nothing.
Well, almost nothing. I heard a momentary dip in the background static
(partial quieting of FM) at around 18:31z. Tried keying up, got nothing back.
I "suggest" we try again tomorrow...

Wow, this is shaping up to be a worthy successor to FO-29, whose orbit
is about 900 x 1300km if I remember correctly. 1200 is just great!
Moreover, with both FM and linear transponder on board, it will make
an excellent satellite to help people transition from FM to the linear
birds, since only one variable, the mode of the rig, will have to be
changed in one's setup.

I am not sure why your goldfish weren't as thrilled as you were. Our koi get
excited when I prance about the back yard working the satellites or watching
heavenly bodies ...
OH - "g/f" means girlfriend, I was just told.
Never mind, Tim.

Thanks everyone for your input on adding a UX910?1200mhz band to my IC 910.
Santa came early.will be using LMR-600 as the run is under 100 ' and I have
it. Next will be looking for an antenna.Have a number of sat T.V antennas
and looking into possibly using the reflector and looking for a kit. Does
this make sense or should I just go for a complete antenna?
ThanksJack WA1ZDV
