I rushed home from work to load up my keps into satpc32... waited until
Delfi-c3 came above my horizon, then had to wait till it exited from
eclipse!

I had the audio recorder going and caught this audio and sent 10 packets
back to the TLM server.

Very exciting!

Check out my recording here:

Hi All,

Delfi-C3 not heard during 00:58 - 01:11 pass (QTH: PL04vq)
on both 145.870 and 145.930.

I was using old TLE to track it.

I have a couple passes tonight, but I'm not sure if Delfi-C3 will be
in eclipse or not. Can someone tell me?

My first pass begins at about 0342 UTC, and the second begins at about
0516 UTC.

Thanks!

Hello All,

Just had an 8 degree pass over western VK. Heard CUTE 1.7+APD II (01:12),
SEEDS (01:15) and the chirpy signal of COMPASS-1 (01:20). Didn't hear
Delfi-C3.

In SATPC32 - use the "S" option to turn the "Sun Line ON/OFF" and status of
satellite will show "SAT in SUN" or "SAT in ECLIPSE" beside your QTH
co-ordinates in top left corner.

Thus, the satellite may be over the dark side of the earth while its
elevation will put it up into the sun.

Very handy for AO-7 too.

Can't give you specific info as you didn't tell us your QTH. Need more than
just the 4 character grid square.

My QTH shouldn't be necessary to tell if the satellite is in or out of
eclipse at a given time, right? I just need to know if it's out of
eclipse in the 10 - 15 minutes after each of these times (tonight):

0342 UTC
0516 UTC

Unless I'm completely forgetting something...

Okay, finally was in the shack and heard Delfi-c3 come out of eclipse tonight-
- 4/29/08 around 02:08 +/- UTC from FM05PJ. There wasn't much of the
footprint in the sun, but it was transmitting.

No data decoded--by the time I tuned back from its "sister craft" at
437.475/.485 (which I heard some CW) to the 2M side I had missed the strongest
signals.

In any event, it was unmistakably Delfi-c3 on 145.930 +/- transmitting 1200
BPSK :)

Nice job, Delfi-c3 team!

Since I am new at the "which object is which object game"

My grid is FN20XW and Delfi-c3 entered the sun at approx 02:06:25 UTC on
tuesday April 29th again in UTC.

I am using the preliminary keps from the Delft site prior to the launch and
had a chance to load all the other "objects" into satpc32.

I am guessing that Delfi-c3 is object D.

Again I have audio and decoded text on my site.

I havent figured that out yet... I am hand tuning.
Plus the satellite is about 2 minutes 30 seconds ahead of where my keps puts
it, So my doppler tuning would be greatly skewed.

5:22 UTC enters Sun

Allow up to +/-1 minute or so depending on which of the KEPS for objects A
thru G or the original April 26 KEPS you are using.

I thought B and D were closest to being the right object in my opinion???

Caught a few strings of data that Rascal automatically uploaded to their
server.

Wow was it loud! with my humble FT-847, internal preamps only and GulfAlpha

Hello

I am not aware abt tracking it as of now, mostly Vu3TYG or Vu2POP should
have tried.

Most of the tracking was telemetry, Delphi is on telemetry for 3 months
atleast.

one satellite is with no battery, so works only during daylight, as per
Amsat.org

Sandeep.

It seems that most reports of good Delfi reception relate to northbound
passes. So far it appears that Delfi has not been heard in VK/ZL during a
number of Southbound sunlit passes despite a number of stations listening
and good reception of SEEDS and Cute1.7. Could this be a spacecraft
orientation issue or has Delfi just a bit anti Southern hemisphere?

When setting up to work AO-27 yesterday I noticed that the schedule on
ao27.org indicated it would be turning on later than normal, with the
bird up in Canada. I went out to catch the pass a minute before the
scheduled on time and found that the bird was already on. It switched to
TLM within a minute and then turned off.

Today I went out for the 2022 pass before my tracking program's
indicated AOS. The bird was on as it rose and it stayed on for a good
6-7 mins before going to TLM. When I got back in after it turned off,
ao27.org listed analog as the current mode, with over 5 minutes remaining.

From what I see, the schedule on ao27.org seems to be 8-10 mins off
from actual time. The bird doesn't seem to have changed schedule at all.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Hello All,

First of all congratulations to the Delfi-C3 team!!!
Today I have monitored 3 passes, and the last pass
was at 21:13utc - 21:26utc which gave good loud signals.
I could not get the data decoded cause I made a mistake
with my interface connected on my soundcard.

I recorded the pass and here you can hear a short
moment (which I have cut out).
