Excellent possibility since one will mitigate the probem of power line
pickup and radiation but the switch is the important part, you can turn
off the oscillator. The touch pad or if it's a metal lamp stand it itself
is the antenna (works like a theremin) so your electronic smarts can take
it from there.
Please don't choke the torroid.
